If too many people keep complaining about having to unlock stuff, there won't be anything left to play for. Or all the best stuff will just be available from the get go.

Really though. If you want a particular gun, fulfill the requirements for it. It's a game, not a job. If it stops being fun, stop playing.

I agree. Some people are under the mistaken impression that since they paid for the game/premium, that the weapons should be automatically unlocked for them.

Sorry, but allow me to disagree. When I buy something, I want to use it immediately. These stupid perks and even more stupid assignments are made just to please the "progression" lovers, to hide the lack of content and to fill the space between DLCs.
I am OK with the challenges, but challenges:
Should be based solely on skill, not on luck or other circumstances. For example, get 50 headshots with Russian Trench or Selbstlader 1906 Factory, Kill 10 snipers with Marksman Medic rifles, Destroy 50 tanks or Defend 20 flags require skill, but not some random ****
Should unlock the unique skin or a unique Dog Tag (Best Marksman or something else), but not the weapon itself
I will never play/choose scout class. So please keep in mind, any objectives you try and "force" upon me to 'broaden my horizons' will not work on me. I 'm no one's crash-test dummy.

Challenge #3 Perform 10 kills with either Crossbow Launcher (let's not promote more grenade spam)
Challenge #5 Destroy 10 tanks with the Crossbow Launcher - HE (it's not the support's job to do that, change it to something that will promote productive support play)
Challenge #2 Destroy 25 Armored Cars with Limpet Mines (no thanks, this dosen't sound like fun i'd hate to do this)
Challenge #3 Destroy 25 vehicles with Rifle Grenades HE (remove this and change it to something medic focused)
Challenge #6 Headshot a Pilot with any single-action Rifle (really ? most snipers are useless as it it dont make them snipe planes please)
11 Modal Yodel (some of us dont play these gememodes, the least you can do is to lower the requirements for completion)
Challenge #1 Destroy 50 Telegraphs (how about 10 telegraphs and still it's gonna be tedious to complete)
Challenge #2 Perform 50 kills from Behemoths (i must lose a game to complete a challenge ??)
Challenge #3 Complete 25 rounds of Supply Drop (make it 5 and we have a deal, if people wont play the gamemode it's gonna be difficult to complete this)
Challenge #4 Complete 15 rounds of Frontlines (make it 5, some people may not like playing this gamemode)
Challenge #5 Win 10 rounds of Team Deathmatch (no just no)
Challenge #6 Complete 25 rounds of War Pigeons (NO NO NOOOOOO please dont i hate this gamemode and i'd hate if i would be forced to play it to unlock something)

Challenge #2 Perform 100 kills with Elite Kits (50 max)
Challenge #3 Bayonet Charge 50 enemies (please dont do this)
Challenge #4 Perform 40 kills with Explosives (stop promoting explosive spam seriously)
Challenge #5 Obtain 5 kills with the Sawtooth Knife (most people dont have it so this needs to go)
Challenge #6 In a round, earn 10000 points (ok why not)
Here's what i think you should do : The challenges should be focused on the strength of the class therefore no destroying tanks with the rifle grenades or headshotting pilots.
These challenges should teach players how to be most effective with each class.
Medics -> centered around reviving, healing and self loading rifles. Squeeze in a syringe kill just to make it fun.
Assault -> vehicle destruction, mines, dynamite etc. you can be really creative here. Dont even think about making an 100 kills with the automatico, im serious >:(
Recon -> flares and periscope use should be encouraged, capping flags to get them moving and play a little more agressice and promote the use of carbine/infantry variants.
Support -> heavy focus on resupplying, bipoded firing, suppression, area denial with gas, unspotting allies with smoke, damaging NOT destroying vehicles.
I think you get my point, i think we can promote good playstyles with this and in term making bf1 a better place for beginners and vets alike.
Dice you always talk up ptfo but with this list you take away from that. Bad enough when players hang back and snipe the whole game or don't play the medic role the right way. Hate to say it but might have to play cod ww 2, at least with that game you know people will play solo

This is a bug which is confirmed at 2017 01 20 and till now it is still not fix. This bug is allmost 8 months old. Come on Dice. First fix this game before starting new things with this game
How about adding other factors to a challenge objective. Instead of just revives or kills how about revive a number allies who then participate in a flag capture (within one minute or something) or get a kill. If you want to make it more complex you could change get a kill to get a revenge kill or counter sniping kill, or maybe a kill with a certain weapon type. For support, maybe repair a stationary weapon that is used to get a kill by you or a teammate within a certain time frame. If you want to make something difficult to accomplish, at least make it positively impact the game. If you really want to make a mission for rifle grenades, make it TDM only.
Please, Unlock all specializations from the beginning. Challenges destroy the PTFO and the team work. Let the challenges for Medals or dog tags (also, remove the challenges for weapons)

Sorry if this has been mentioned but the initial list is not accurate, the first one is the MP18 Optical, not Trench. It is for me anyway, I've just completed it.

instead of making the game at least close, not 200-300 blow outs EVERY GAME.
This is the kind of thing you'll need to hunt for or as in this case; get real lucky.

Suggestion: Do not lock game content behind objectives, unlock all game content from the start.
