I feel like scout is lacking a proper and interesting gadgets. We have sniping shield that some times is useful while camping, flare, tripwire traps which are meh and periscope that is used by nobody (unless someone is doing a challenge). K bullets are rather weak too. What else could be done so scouts are more useful to the team? Right now I feel basically no purpose of using any gadets beside flare at all.

The K-Bullets can be helpful. Not to destroy a tank, but stopping it from repairing or destroy its engine to make it unable to run away or move.

The only "new" gadget I can think of would be, that the scout releases a pidgeon, than he gets a screen like he would sit on a mortar, he can aim like using a mortar, but the point he is "firing" at he will spot all enemies nearby.

I use quite often the periscope as I like to play with the iron sights so I need to make the enemy appear clearly. and it's very useful for the team with the red outline that last 3 seconds even undercover.

Flaregun is a must, then it's between tripwires and kbullets, tripwires netting the most kills by far, the shield is the troll option used to scale things and block staircases, little else.

Flare gun spot and K-bullets are amazing. The rest are incredibly situational.
-Flare gun spot will show your team where enemies are, reveal flankers or incoming enemies to a flag- this is huge for your team when used correctly. Can also help you with positioning in CQB.
-K-bullets can stop tanks from repairing. Do increased damage to planes(1 K-bullet will damage fighter and attack plane wings, etc). Do increased damage to elite classes and cavalry. Can work as backup ammo when you run out(though not at long distances).
-The Trench Periscope can be used to spot key targets for your team. Also displays distances which can be helpful for those who wanna find their sweetspot ranges. This can also be done with the minimap, look at objectives to see how far away they are then watch your minimap and estimate~. Personally never use this one.
-Tripwire INC can be nice for short-term area denial in certain scenarios. Tripwire GAS can aswell to a lesser extent. Tripwire HE deals too little damage and is too easy to notice, only useful if you're camping a tower and put it on a ladder.
-Sniper Shield is just bad because being prone is always bad when your enemies have any scout/medic/support on their team unless you're 400 meters away, in which case you can't consistently hit moving targets. It can be used to make it harder to enter doorways but that's about it.
-Sniper Decoy...might reveal an enemy player...if they forgot to put on their glasses.
    -
I would like to see more gadgets that actually are useful for the scout player that isn't sitting in a tower or are 400m away.

The flare gun is also another incendiary weapon, those kills are the best.

When I, rarely, snipe with scope (im an amazing person) i always use the periscope so I dont give away my position by avoiding the lens glare

If anything, this class should be stripped of gadgets, considering how many useless hillhumpers there are in Operations!

Yeah I forgot to mention that it can be used as a lackluster area denial tool or to finish someone off behind cover ^^

I'm fairly certain that the Trench Periscope has a lens glint/glare. Can't find any video confirming this however. But from my understanding all scopes above 4x(so 5x-10x) is going to have a glint and I think the Trench Perscope has a 10x zoom.

What :O Well in any case, you can still scout around while staying in cover.

That why I use the flash sometimes, blinds and burns, the ultimate troll.

It not that gadget are bad or Scouts lack gadgets, it is they just appear half done for their roles that's why most scouts only use 3.

    - Periscope, why the hell would more then 1 or 2 player in a team need. Outlines spot should be for the whole team, longer and not disappear when behind cover. You are at a disadvantage by having the glint but advantages of them are just not there. When a normal scope can 3d spot just as well

    - Decoy it outlines the player that shots it, unless we know which direct. You would never see as at distance a prone red outline is almost impossible to see. Placement needs fixing you should not be the height at which you are it should be selectable. Here why, you are behind cover you know there is a sniper(bullet missed) instead of crouch and getting you head shot off, you deploy a decoy with adjustable setting allows you to set it to crouch height instead of prone only.

    - Shield a little bit more flexibility would not hurt. Like being able to place on Window frames, walls or even when you are prone. Maybe even removing glint from periscope or Sniper scopes.

    - Flash Gun currently troll only, velocity is lower it uses are area denial, burn a target or distracting a target. A small spot area would make this useful on enclosed maps, like Argonne, Amiens, or Vaux.

    - K bullets need a better modifier against planes as their ranges is very limited and the time to reload is long.

    - Tripwire HE is getting a boost. Still not a kill.

I think this would improve Scouts role.

Flares and kbullets are awsome gadgets.
I wouldn't trade it with any other gadget.

I've started to use the periscope on some maps now instead of the spot flare, as the flare no longer shows up stationary or slow movers if they enabled that ability. The incendiary trip wife is much more effective than the HE one after the specialism changes too; often getting a 'free kill' at some point flashing up on the screen (very satisfying). I must confess that I sometimes carry K bullets to use as extra ammo if I am hill humping somewhere, not that I do much of that these days.

when ever i run the scout class it's always trench parascope and K-bullets..and a smoke grenade to vanish if i'm being suppressed..plus playing a few platoon friends helps when tanks are rampaging or a plane is farming infantry..by far the most fun class to use.

The only scout gadgets that are the pits are the flash flare, the sniper shield and the Heads. Never used the flash and heads. Used the sniper shield for the stupid assignment and never again. Whilst they would of been of use in WW1 there pointless in BF1. Spot flare and K Bullets are the two best in my opinion. Trench periscope is pretty useful.

Gotta love the " please shoot me in the face" shield.

I've sniped plenty of people out of that shield. Even got someone hiding behind a shield using the m1900 slug recently.
