Personally I couldn't give a toss, as long as they die when my bullets hit them, and they're stabbable i'm not bothered. Seen a huge amount of people kicking off about it though.

I'm going to pick the most 'out there' female set up I can, for amusement purposes, hopefully there will be pink options to really get opponents triggered

"Women indeed fought in the Second World War, and Soviet women were particularly active in combat." - great, which of women was soviet from all that we saw? Maybe in reveal trailer? Or on the cover? Or maybe in gameplay vidoes, that youtubers brought recently? Nice try, bro.
"[My 13-year-old daughter] plays Fortnite, and says, 'I can be a girl in Fortnite. Why are people so upset about this?" - cos that's not a Fortnite, but a WWII game? And for Christ sake, why should we even care about opinon of 13 yo girl, that isn't even suppoused to play in games, like BF V? That's insane!!!
"There are a lot of female people who want to play, and male players who want to play as a badass [woman]" - yea? Im a female and I don't want to play as a "badass women" in the game, which is set in WWII period and setting, cos "badass women" don't really belong to that war. And it seems, that a lot of other guys and gals in BF community share the same thought, otherwise, there wouldn't even be such controvercy and in such size.
Good to see, that EA, as Andrew Wilson said few days ago "listening to their community, listen and learn". Andrew, if you see this, you better go and deal with your workers, that publicly making such bs statements like "anyone who's disturbed by the women's presence is welcome not to buy the game", cos they don't want to listen and learn. Such people should not be welcome in EA.
It is convenient for EA and Dice to conflate criticism with the artistic direction the game hass taken with criticism of the inclusion of women. It allows them to pin any criticism on the 'bad guy' because anything that bad guys say is bad. It makes it convenient to simply ignore rather than justify.
It's pretty disgusting behaviour how he keeps using his daughter as justification for business and marketing choices and compares emergent behaviour brought about by an anomaly with the physics of the game with active design choices made in a board room, trying to pass the two as relevant to each other.
I also dislike how they keep pretending they're doing this for me and other women. That they are somehow '"standing up for the cause." What cause? Women play games already. We've been playing them for years and decades before now and no amount of pandering is going to attract more female games into gaming. Not one person is going to play a game they don't already have an interest in, simply because it includes women.
And the worst part about it is that they already know this. This isn't about inclusion and diversity. This is purely a hijacking of a current social trend for the purposes of marketing. I mean I get it; it's really good marketing and any company interested in money would do the same thing but it all feels disingenuous.
Really they should have made a WW2 campaign which was accurate and serious, then made a point of the multiplayer being a separate thing set in the same time period.
Glad to see the game is being modeled around the questions of a 13 year old girl. Next time she asks why she can't ride a Unicorn know there is a new tank skin incoming.
I think the youtubers were forced to be who they are. The Angry Joe video, he is running about for 10 minutes sayin it feels weird hearing womens voices on the battlefield, then he realises he is one hahaha.
“We can’t sleep at night unless we have some sort of system that continually generates revenue after the initial sale of the game.”
“We know you guys won’t go for loot boxes or pay 2 win now, so here are cosmetics. We are casting a wide net so we can maximise potential sales. As a result it’s very socially diverse.”
“I mean I even wanted to put babies in there too, but apparently that’s some sort of crime.”

You are talking past tense without even seeing a complete SP mission. MP is exactly what you said it is set in that time period a Tiger Tank in Norway 1940 not when production start in 42.
I believe DICE is doing that like they did in BF1.
This isn't going to end well. It's going to please the people fully on board with the game, or those who want to be women just to mess with people. But the bigger picture is that EA/DICE just lost a lot of customers and the echo chambers (including here) that support anything they do don't necessarily represent your average gamer who will walk into a store, see a Battlefield game that claims to be set in WWII, and laugh as they put it back on the shelf because it has a girl on the front of the box of a WWII game.
And before you come at me with the "well they are sexist" comments let me say this: no, they are not. People who know anything about WWII know that female involvement is minimal with a few exceptions. When your average customer thinks WWII they think Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers. A WWII game that focus on women as much as DICE is simply will not be popular.
You realize of course that his daughter is not the sole reason. If you think that she is, then honestly you shouldn't be using the Internet as you are not safe.

Because big corparations don't want to look greedy in the eyes of casuals or non-gamers. So it's easier to find a scapegoat to blame all potantial controversy on it. And those "haters" are perfect for this purpose. EA has to look harmless while trying to get as much money as possible. Simple.
Calling other people Haters isn't a good thing to do. It's a sign of shoving Politics into a video game. People play video games to get away from Politics. Most Video games that force Agendas don't sell well.

Hahaha bullet magnet though

Come guys.
It’s how gamers work.
There’s a big “discussion” about it.
Who wouldn’t feel the desire to click female on the character select screen knowing the reaction it’s going to get.
Voice chat on console is going to be scorching.
Obviously it’s going to be wall to wall ladies for at least a week.
Look at gameplay videos from different BF youtubers and others... You will see, how bad the situation is actually going to be.
