This will no doubt "rustle someones jimmies" but please take it for what it is - my opinion.
There is no tracker for BF2, BF2142 and Bad Company 2 but I'd say I've put similar hours in to those as BF3 and 4 ~300h hours each. Even losing a round didn't feel bad as the battles were fun.
BF1 and BF5 ive put in 28 and 30 hours respectively, it doesn't feel like a Battlefield game anymore to me.
Singleplayer or war stories - I'd trade them all in a heartbeat for a one story like BC2 BF3 BF4 all of which had relatable characters and a story I could get invested in, this new format doesn't hold a candle to them.
Multilplayer - I spent hours unlocking all the weapons in previous games and then spent time with each one to unlock all the attachments which had a real impact on the weapons behaviour and looks - BF1and5 just find one that is somewhat useful and play. Awarded unlocks are meaningless and frustrating - unlocking skin for each part of the gun separately is just busy work and filler content. Also gold skin - why?
The in game currency has the bad taste to it like it was supposed to be a part on micro transaction system. Was looking forward to getting a new clothing items but the grind was just too much.
Vehicles in game - annoying. Just spawn the damn things for people to use and have them the same for everyone for balance purposes!
Planes: planes everywhere! Infantry needs AA, jumping in to the stationary gun is sure way of getting sniped or bombed.
Infantry hard to tell part friend of foe
Weekly unlocks - good idea but in the end was the last straw that has made me quit. 1. Don't show me the previous week rewards if there is no way for me to get them.
2. The last requirement for this week was "win a grand operation", which turned out to be the impossible objective - I've never had this many loses in a row, I've tried to stick it out with the same team for ages and then resorted to server hopping - to no avail. In the old days after a game teams got mixed up to even out the odds (possible based on skill level etc.)
(please do let me know that I need to "git gud")
The lady from the trailer with a hook for a hand - where is she and how do I unlock her?
What happened to the Levolution?
Now the good: Game looks great and runs great as usual - for most part.
V1 bombs are epic, right from the distant roar of the pulse jet engine to massive explosion!
I quite like the new ammo system
Weekly challenges and rewards are a good idea
Smoke grenades are perfect in this instalment
Fingers crossed for the next Battlefield game.

I don't like war stories and wish for a true campaign back but I doubt this will happen, even COD dropped its campaign completely.
And pls fix the damn forum, i can not freaking post in the PC forum, another bug in all of this mess.
And you are how old?
We really do seem to have been shortchanged with this game.
Years go by, more BF titles emerge and we still find ourselves with a game that is totally broken from release.
Minor things and fundamental issues with the game’s inner workings.
Regarding unlocks, yes, I agree with OP.
Unlocks were always rewarding and gave you something to work towards.
Personally, I couldn’t care less for ribbons, medals and skins etc.
These things are so pointless and have no bearing on how and why I play a game.
Weapon selections seem to be going downhill and there are hardly any to choose or unlock.
No attachments to unlock either, so you can’t kit-out your favourite weapon.
All you get to unlock is skins.
Woooooow 😏
I actually choose not to put effort into assignments because of this.
I’ll look to see what the “reward” is for an assignment, see it’s another poxy worthless skin and then simply not bother.
Recon class is clearly getting a raw deal nowadays.
To the point I don’t really have much love for the franchise anymore.
I only ever play recon. That’s my choice and it’s how I choose to play.
But if this game is any reflection on how things are going, I really will put this done for good.
Glint
Poor choice in rifles
Terrible damage models
Horrendous velocities
Worst rate of fire
Over exaggerated recoil when other classes have almost none
Lame gadgets
Limited ammo
It’s enough to kill the game for me.
Dice is still caught in this endless web of balancing, to the point that the actual gameplay suffers.
No longer can we, as the players, play the game how WE want to.
No. We have to play how we’re told to play and it’s just getting plain boring now.
Not to mention the endless list of the SAME OLD issues upon release.
Then WE have to tell THEM what’s up with the game! Wtf? 😳
They’ve already proved that they don’t know what they’re doing half the time following that whole TTK calamity.
I’m sticking around for the 2 updates in January to see where they go with this, but if we just get given the same old list of lame, minor, irrelevant patches while not addressing the issues that long-standing players have, it’ll be the last piece of cash they get from me.
And with this game, I’m not falling for any extras costs for DLC’s, content of any kind, weapons etc.
I refuse to pay any more money towards this game unless they make serious U-turns with some of the choices they’ve made.
Scope glint on all recon scopes while other classes don’t have glint is enough on its own for me to put this game down.
They added glint in the last days of BF1 and it’s the sole reason I won’t play that game again.
Real good, Dice.. you’re actually making sure that some of your loyal players DON’T play your games again.
Good business model, right there 😏
I think that's a little too hostile. I think he wants to give feedback and its good that he's giving feed back to why he doesn't like the game. It's much more written out, thought out than just saying screw bfv. It sucks.
...they put out a product you can play it on not. They don't need to change their whole game ......business model....w/e....just because some cry babies don't care for it. I'm not digging on you or anything but just don't play it if that's how you feel. End of story.
Why is it a waste of time to come to a forum hosted by the company you just spent your hard earned money with, to let them know that the product you purchased isn't meeting your expectations? Seems like a great investment of someone's time if you ask me. Companies need to hear from their customer base when their products are meeting expectations.
The game does feel unfinished and unfit for release imo. The company coin not carrying on after lvl50, the R2 trigger glitch where it brings up your friends list when you're faced with enemy players, the V2 rocket bug where half the screen goes black when you're aiming the binoculars, the infinite loading screen in between rounds, the TTD bug that DICE have admitted is an issue etc, etc, exceterah!
All this after the delayed release? Hence bringing the date closer to xmas where they planned to reduce the game for the holiday crowd and understandably annoying those players who paid full whack not long before - [party] in brewery springs to mind. And a very good point OP, where is the bird with the prosthetic arm?
All this said I have enjoyed, and continue to enjoy BFV.
There was a chap on Reddit moaning that he was bored after playing 256hrs and leveled up all weapons to 10 and vehicles to 4 - go figure! I have a fully gold sten (go me ik), gold bits on other weapons but there are some that haven't been touched so they're are on the to do list for the future.
The gameplay, even with the ttd bug, is imo enjoyable. A stint leveling up to 85 in Siege has seriously improved my close quarter/ environmental awareness game. Playing around with specialisations, TOW (when it tracks), tasks to unlock skins, daily's all are enough to keep the more serious completionists (who don't have a bucket) busy.
Not at all. It is a refreshing change that some here don't force their 'opinion' as fact. I feel for ya, and hope that the next game you purchase will be a good one.
TLDR;
So following your logic I should make a huge thread about everything I like in bfv and tell EA how great this game is in my opinion? Wouldn't it be a gigantic waste of time and effort? If you like the game keep playing it. If not there is no reason for us to know why someone is not satisfied. Trust me, Dice employees don't read every single thread filled with complaints so this one will be missed just like others.
Why not? That's all they do over at Reddit is tell us how much they love the game. Hell hath no fury of you don't. So, i agree with the poster you're citiing, in that, what more should a consumer do, than to let the company they purchased a product from know they're unhappy, along with getting a refund, if he was even able to do it.
@llPhantom_Limbll actually there is a reason as most companies are more interested in why people won't buy or regret buying a product so they can adapt and potentially expand their customer base than they are with someone that says "everything is fine". Moderators and CMs here send reports to the studio on many aspects of the game and community so feedback like this isn't unwelcomed. His feedback was also descriptive and wasn't dripping with vitriol which is a plus in my book and he even gave some positives.
Well just like him I shared my opinion on this case. As I said, I don't feel it's necessary to tell others if I like or don't like the game. If I didn't like it in the first place I'd just stopped playing without making a full thread here. Also, the whole "I'm done", "I won't play bf anymore" stuff sounds overdramatic for no reason. If someone wants to provide reasonable feedback, make a "feedback thread" not something with such attitude.
That's you, many players seem to disagree and enjoy grinding their way though those awards. Medals and ribbons and skins etc. have been in the series for many years, why single them out as if this is the first time they're appeared?
Wrong again, DICE has chosen to use Specializations rather than attachments to change weapon performance, but you can indeed affect the performance of weapons and vehicles by choosing different specializations. I think the way they did this is clunky and needlessly fragmented, but it does work and it is remarkable that you don't seem to have figured out how to use the system. Again, this sort of factual error makes your whole argument look weak.
Aha, now we're getting somewhere. You need headshots to get one-hit-kills, so you're unhappy. You don't have C4 so you're unhappy. No motion sensors--unhappy. Spotting is largely gone so your targets aren't lit up for you so you're unhappy. Scope glint, limited ammo if you're not smart enough to load up when you spawn and so on--you refuse to adapt to differences in this game and therefore it's the game that is bad, not you. Classic.
Lots of folks are playing the game the way they want, although in some cases that means old dogs have had to learn new tricks. If you refuse to learn, refuse to adapt, that's on you, not the game.
Scope glare has been in this series for many years, and "snipers" (as opposed to Recons) have whined about it for years. I'm a lousy sniper but I'm a good Recon because I spend most of my time using my spotting scope since that helps my team, I put my spawn beacon where it will help my squad, and so on. Players who insist on staring into a telescopic sight for the whole round get no sympathy from me, they're almost always useless to their team anyway.
The group I play with are all long-time BF fans, some going back to the very beginning of the series. They're all having fun in BFV, even a couple who said they would not buy the game have heard us having a good time and changed their minds. You're entitled to your opinion, but plenty of players do not share your views.
