A big ban wave hits Apex Legends, and cheaters are very upset about it

A massive ban wave seems to have come down on Apex Legends cheaters recently, judging by the distraught posts that have come out of hacking forums in the past few days. Legitimate players are enjoying the schadenfreude of the bans, and it seems that Respawn’s methods have proven quite effective.

Why is DICE treating cheaters as VIPs ?

It's funny to see cheater's complaining about getting banned for unfair play. And although I play on console, it's stupid when I see a mod ban a person in the PC section for putting a cheater's name on the forum, or evidence of a cheater, and removing said evidence. What's the point of them protecting cheaters on PC? And they wonder why the PC player count on EA multiplayer games (like Battlefield) is going down.
