Talking about top tier gamemodes, an absolute dream would be bringing back 2142 Titan mode, but instead of a Titan it takes place on a big battleship or aircraft carrier. When you capture flags on the map (Wake Island would be perfect for this) arty strikes are being launched destroying enemy vessels guarding the carrier/battleship. Once all the enemy vessels are destroyed you can board the big ship and you have to complete a series of tasks before you get to the ships magazine where you have to place some time fused dynamite and abandon the ship as fast as possible.

They tried that in bf4. It was miserable in comparison to 2142 titan mode. Any reincarnation of that today would result In the same way. The studio today simply just don't share the same vision, and good memories are sometimes best left as they are.

Well I tried the grind.  Not crazy over it.  All support guy's laying prone with bipods and recon shooting how far away.  Also feel like either you got all 3 flags and pushed them into their spawn or they doing it to our team.  Gave me the sense of that old Hardline map the Block.  It happened on that map a lot. Just turns into a k/d stat padder.

Nice mode!! From the very beginning it reminds me good old Metro for 2500% tickets from BF3/BF4! Very tasty meat grinder!! Just need more tickets and ways to flang enemies ;)

Terrible. And the majority of conquest servers are on this mode. dice is just rehashing tired content.

The lack of paid DLC has clearly come at a cost to BF players.

I consider grind to be a good fix for the last Mastery assignments. Use the opportunity while you can and get that last assignment complete, since the maps are pretty much objective after an objective and they switch hands frequently so it's easy to complete "while defending" or "while attacking" tasks. Overall, it's mindless but also quite a lot of fun. It can also be infuriating, but that's just the way BF is.

Tried it for a few rounds. It's basically a smoke/spam fest. Nothing to do with what Battlefield was originally intended to be.

    No thanks.

How do you know what BF was originally intended to be? That’s not your choice. You obviously never played Metro in BF3, in BF4 Metro 2014 or Operation Locker or in BF1 Argonne Forest or Fort De Vaux. You can’t please everyone.

The game was based upon the default conquest mode, as introduced in BF1942, BF2, and was the carried over to BF2142 .... all of which pre-dated the above titles, which began to take the franchise in alternative directions. Trends changes, but there is no doubt what BF was originally intended to be by the creators of the original Dice team.

I played all of those and enjoyed a lot.
Grind is nothing like that. Maps you mentioned, were properly designed for [removed] gameplay. In each of them you always had some way around and you had few paths to assault. Despite their narrowed flow, there were always some places offering cover.
In Grind there is nothing like that. Poorly designed maps to just make another cheap and easy "mode", so EA can say they offer something within their "living service" - which is the quickest dying service I have ever seen :)

Your experience is clearly different to mine with 3000 hours plus on BF4 and similar time in BF3

Your post will probably get deleted due to use of foul language sigh.

Each of the maps have ways to flank so maybe you just don’t have the skill to work that out. There is plenty of cover as well plus you can also build your own fortifications and mg nests. Plus you have smoke barrages to advance under cover. Clearly you don’t have a clue

Times change bro what was intended in 2002 doesn’t necessarily apply in 2019.

Yes .... times changes and games evolve, but when you ask "How do you know what BF was originally intended to be?" ...... It was designed to experience combat game play via infantry and vehicles on large open maps, not small infantry based maps with limited choke points.  That is simple fact and is the answer to your question!
It has evolved into what we have today to compete with the competition, which has mainly derived from the console player base which brings in substantial revenue.

It was never promised to be this going forward into the future. Like you said games evolve and nothing stays the same for such a long period.
If it stayed this way people would be complaining the game is stale and not innovative and evolving.
