As the title suggests, what do y'all think of the BOYS AT Rifle? Do you think it's too strong or is it where it should be?

It's fine where it is.  Slow reload, slow ROF,  bipodding takes a while, OHK up to about 80m but beyond that need a headshot, slow bullet speed.  You will likely lose a sniper battle when facing a decent sniper as they will be able to move and the BOYS almost requires you to be bipodded.

I like it so far. On something like 400 kills with it so far. I'd be tempted to argue that it's better using it on Breakthrough rather than Conquest though as it just seems to work better there, for me anyway.

However I'm more interested in what Jodie did to you. Share the tea.

It’s fine where it is. It doesn’t suit my playing style, you really are an easy target when you go prone. The one shot kill ability is balanced by the slow rate of fire.

Have it as a standalone pick up gun like The Tank Hunter , played the new map Mercury and that is the only gun you see in the kill feed.No scope glare so hard to see. I did try it against a Tiger Tank and done 8 damage to side of turret.

Massive pain for tankers. It does little damage to big tanks, but it interrupts repair. I'd be in favor of a small ammo nerf.
Other than that, it's fine. Great vs scout and transport vehicles the assault class might have a hard time hitting. Picking off planes is fun.

it needs are the ability to destroy walls and fortifications in one or two hits. And when they fix the armor piercing rounds, the rounds should be able to hit targets thru normal walls and fortifications.

Otherwise keep everything else the same.

    +Improvements to the bipod mechanic

Hmm,...I find it to be extremely effective while hiding in bushes and getting one shot kills on a foot.

It's a recon gun. Give it scope glint like the rest. Disappearing snipers with a OHK rifle is awful
    It’s got one.

If you shoot them in the foot, you can’t kill them with one shot if they’re full health; arms and leg shots do 85 damage.

it has scope glint... at least I saw scope glint before I got blasted :joy:
pretty sure it works the same as with all the other rifles: small scope glint with 3x and big one with 6x.

now to the actual topic. I would increase consistency of the damage against vehicles. damage varies by factors of up to 3 (without taking ricochet shots into consideration). considering that its supposed to be used at long range and that its hard to change the angle at which you hit the target at long range its just a factor of randomness whether you get a good hit in or not. hence increasing consistency in damage would mean to make it less dependent on angle but maybe more dependent on what part of the tank you hit (to introduce some kind of skillgap).
in turn I would maybe nerf the range at which it can one shot body shot infy a bit. maybe to 80m instead of 100m or so.
other than that it's alright imo.

Yep it's the same as all the other BARs. I think the default setup is with irons (pretty good ones) so it's probably just people leaving the scopes off.

It’s a campers dream rifle. However it appears that you must camp a bush or a rock to use it,...that’s all you see.

You can use if fairly aggressively at mid range with the 3x.  I pop up take a shot, drop down, move a bit, pop up, take a shot and repeat.  Really seems to keep the defenders on their toes knowing they can get 1HK at any time while also having to deal with the assault front lines folks.

Once they fix the spec tree for the final perk it should also do more dmg to tanks which will help.

Not been able to get on so far today to check but I think the APCR specialism has been fixed now.

I can't stand bipoded weapons, personally. Being prone and just laying there makes me feel too vulnerable.

just imagine what a lovely gameplay we will have on metro and onther infanty only game modes.

the only way to fix it is to remove bipods or make them only deployable when crouching not proning so that you actually can see those campers

I've enjoyed using it, but I detest the cheating punks who hipfire kill me in one hit from 800 yards while sprinting,

I get you are exaggerating but the furthest you've likely been hip fire killed from the boys at would be around ~30 meters and that would have been an extremely lucky shot at that. Go find a flag and re check what 30 meters is in game. It's even rather far for a sub machine gun
