The skies the limit.  Let's keep it to purely gameplay features.   I will start it off with a few idea of my own.  Don't sue me if these aren't new to the franchise or are not completely new.

1.  Hanging off the back of tanks or jeeps.  What if could go up to a friendly tank and just grab on and hang on the outside of it for a bit?  What if you do that with a transport vehicle?  That would be fun.  Add some excitement.  Would have been fun with horses in BF1 too.  It would have to work great.    And be crisp and polished and no hassle.  Maybe just holding down E would do the trick.  As long as you held down E you hung on.  A big bounce could knock you off.  IF the vehicle brushed up against  an object it could knock you off.

2.  Zip lines and grappling hooks.  OK not new.  But these were were a blast in Special Forces back in BF2.  It may have been in a BF spinoff game too aka Hardline.  But  this stuff equals fun.   Zipping down from the bridge or grappling up to the bridge on Rotterdam for example?  How could that not be fun?

3.  Jumping from vehicle to vehicle.  What if you could jump out of your vehicle and land on top of another vehicle?  What if this also could be pulled off in the air between planes?   Smells like fun to me.

4.  Crawling dead guys.  Basically bring the Firestorm feature into the main game.  When you're down you can crawl away and even use your pistol to some gimped degree.  That might add additional fun.

5.  Glider.  What if you had some kind of personal glider as a gadget in some class.  A wing suit.  Something that would let you glide a short distance or drop down from a tall height without damage?  Although the zipline is basically the same gameplay idea.  So it's probably redundant.

6.  randomly generated maps.   the idea is the map is never the same each time and thus the experience is always a bit different.  The idea is from Diablo  which had randomly generated 2d dungeons.   Take that and bring to 3d and BF.  IT's a complex idea and programming task.  There would have to be some limitations.  But (it would) be interesting if a few maps were able to reconfigure certain parameters each time so the map would never be quite the same each time it was played.  That would help keep the game fresh.

7.  ....

    Repair tools damaging enemy Tonks.

    Syringe kills.

As to custom maps, whilst a randomly generated map would no doubt be impossible, I had an idea during BF1......

A 5 flag map has 7-8 possible flag sites, the home flags are fixed but the 3 in play are random per map. No one knows which until someone gets there to see if it can be capped. They also don't appear on the map until fully capped for the first time.

Similar could be applied to Rush for Mcom placement but might give defenders too much of a chance to dig in preventing the attackers rushing!

I don't think I've tried to do it in BFV yet but they didn't carryover this feature from the previous BFs? Did this every chance I got in BF4 and BF1. Bring it back!

What about using a recently killed enemy as a meat bullet shield?

    Ok i'll play.

Commander mode (either spawn as in BF4, or decide to enter command bunker on map) sacrifice mobility/shooting for ability to issue orders, alerts - doing this correctly could help buff req points

Field resupply truck, could be jeep or lightly armoured with no weapons but ammo in back, could be vulnerable but could be used to emergency supply tanks a fraction of their expended ammo (I.e it wouldn't be able to give back 18/18 shells but could be used to give back 6 to get tank back into play) - could help minimise boring heavy tank drives back to some backwater resupply station

Light mortar - don't care what the designers say we need a mortar back in the game to break up concentrations of sniper spam (see later for snipers) - this could be used by support, but could require to be dug out and placed and require a loader aswell as a shooter?
Could possibly come in as a radial menu spawn by squad leader (one off before needing to be respawned with req points)

Remove the medic class, replace with engineer (as it should be) and merge the medic abilities into assault, but if medic class is selected from assault then anti tank weapons and regular assault weapons are greyed out.

Remove the COMPLETELY POINTLESS MMG incendiary bullet specialisation as it doesn't do anything to aircraft, even with increased speed and rate of fire, i've only ever been able to do at best 5-6 damage to an aircraft with VGO/MG/MG42. So either buff it or remove it and replace it with something useful. (and while your at it, please fix the bipod - see BF3 bipod if you are unsure how it should feel...)

Just make a sniper only mode, i'm not saying all recon people are the same, but its obvious from countless games of breakthrough that all some people want to do is just shoot at each other from across the map, no objective play. So just make a sniper only map, recon only and let them spam each other with rifles all day. This will also remove that player type from the regular game modes.

Just throwing bones, but its a start!

I think the idea of procedural generated maps is incredibly exciting for games like BF.

You got few of mine covered, but I have more.

    1. Push/pull vehicles like the old melee strike. So we can turn the field guns or move a stuck vehicles. Could be done by using the repair to either hit to move or hold to pull.

    2. Scuba gear. Increase the time you can spend under water. Water action always seemed so caled down.

    3. Melee kills under water. Using a dagger only.

    4. Crawling out of water. You can crouch or walk but you could not crawl out of water.

    5. Fox holes. Small holes you dig deep enough to lay flat in just like explosive holes.

    6. Being able to fire a pistol on a ladder. I believe it still being worked on.

    7. Incendiary grenade that burn thing like grass or bushes, and sit on top of water.

    8. Sentry dogs. Could be used as a mobile scanner points in the direction of the enemy or stationary alarm, barks when enemy get inside a radius.

    9. Anti-Explosive dogs. Detects explosive stops and points. Maybe then we could have 1HK mines.

    10. Ghillie suits with scope glare still a thing it would make no difference at distance but it would make it harder for flankers to find.

    11. Different types of explosives. Instead of just a gaint bundles of dynamite, that makes a Big Bang. How about things like Bangalore torpedo a small long line explosive that could be used to blow fortifications only or wall/door/window breachers that blows small holes in walls instead of taking out halve the building.

    12. Commander in game like BF2. It would reduce spam by artillery and v1, allow some public coordination between squads and create a special forces meta. BF4 commander was bad as only another commander could counter and the commanders had no risk for big rewards.

    13. Pickups allow for fun weapons like Flamethrower, Heavy Mortar or AT rifles that are strong and effective without every infantry carrying.

    1. Holding on, even if you can climb on top of a vehicle and hold/seat on would be good too. As a quick transport and not being able to use weapons would still be great.

    4. Even just a few meters crawl could help to get a revive.

    - Riding bicycles, as a fast/swift transport option. They're all over the Rotterdam and a couple on Arras. And were a common sight in the War, used by both sides including the Resistance.

I wish we had goofy stuff like the BF3 MAV back. Random fun gadgets you can mess around with. I get that it's a WW2 game but that kind of thing really keeps a game from getting stale.

I loved and still love pushing campers off roofs with it, and killing enemies with the mav setting off mines or any explosive is still satisfying.

How's about we just call this game a failure and let's all agree that the first order of business for the next BF game that EA stays completely out of it?

I’ll go one further, being able to stack dead animals like sandbags. This was done in WW2,

    Using horses and cows

Another thought; to be able to use the randomly placed artillery cannons... Despite being decor pieces, they could have an actual function, see it as a fixed mortar.
