o the assault gets the M1 Grand apparently.....
a weapon that doesn't really fit into the class or to be more precise would fit a lot better into the recon classes SLrs....
i think no one can dispute anymore that DICE and the assault have an affair and the other classes are seen as 2nd class.....
great DICE way to go and show colors

Garrand is a SLR, Assault has SLRs in BFV. I don't see your point

    so does the recon
also if you examine the Semi-autos of the assault the M1 will stick out like a sore thumb.
on top of giving the by far most requested weapon to the by far most played class makes in terms of balance no sense whatsoever

    get helped.

Assault has high RPM SLRs, recon has low RPM SLRs. M1 Garand is a high RPM SLR.

SLR is the strongest weapon class in the game, but there's no connection with "giving Garand to assault"

M1 Garand  ROF 40-50 your argument is invalid. slowest RPM currently is the 1916 with unuprgaded ROF 217 i think
    so what reason is there?

i do not but its beyond me to give that weapon to the far and wide most useful class in the game.
it just shows that DICE has no interest in making the other classes more appealing in any way shape or form especially medic and recon.
    thats whats upsets me

A ROF argument is rather invalid, as the numbers are all pretty much made up by DICE. Every semi-auto fires as fast, as you can pull the trigger. So the RSC fires as fast as the M1. DICE only made the distinction between the high capacity and low capacity to increase weapon classes and so that they can actually add weapons like the RSC.
The Garand is in an interesting place as it is stripper clip only and only has 8 bullets in the mag, which is right in between the arbitrary lines DICE drew. It could have just used a 3-3 damage model with with a comparable ROF like the RSC or Model 8.

Imo Garand is closer to Turner SMLE, G43 or M1938. But you're right at saying that's arbitrary

but why did DICE now decide to break its cage with a weapon that everyone and their mother wanted and then give it to the one class that really does not need any more reason to be played.
i mean what weakness does assault have in the game? it relies on medics/supply stations to heal and that is it..... tanks no problem planes will be less of an issue from now on and then weapons that are almost the best at everything?!
why even bother with balance and classes anymore then

It would be awesome it they game the M1 to all the classes. Maybe have different specialisation for each class for it or something, but Its an iconic weapon for Battlefield (lost of fun using it in BC2 against 'modern weapons') and would would be a great tribute to see all classes able to have/use it.

Seriously, it was the weapon to use in the Pacific theatre. It should be issued to the assault class, first and foremost.
Medic could be issued with it also btw.
    But the other classes? Nope.

I just think it is lame the first two new gadgets both go to the assault class. The other classes would like a change of pace too DICE.

    What a shock!

Don't worry just hope DICE lock guns to theaters just for realism.

    Surprise!

I can't wait for all the explosive spam threads we already have people complaining that Fliegerfaust needs Nerf and is OP.

why wouldn't it fit in the recon with SLRs? slow ROF hard hitting smaller mag-size?
assault is stacked beyond comparison in BFV and DICE keeps adding to them
remember it took DICE 6 months to give medic a new SMG meanwhile every other class has gotten 2-3 weapons by that point?!
they have their favorites and it is assault they know it i know it everyone knows it
