Battlefield 6 Squad size

Anybody heard any rumours? I’ve seen it touted online that some maps may be 128 players. Obviously, it’s conjecture at the moment. 

You’d think if that were the case, they’d increase the squad limit past 4 players.

But, this being DICE / EA, that’d be too sensible, right?

    Unless somethings "magical" happens to map-design, it will probably be too chaotic for most players. If the number of vechicles increase as well it could end up being really bad (imagine 20+ vehicles farming infantry).

    With larger playercounts (and maps as well) it would make sense to increase squad-size. It could be one way of (hoping) to avoid 128 lone-wolfs camping in every possible "corner" on the map.

    Forget map design. 

    Can the servers even physically handle 128 players simultaneously? There's no shortage of people here (and on reddit too I would assume) complaining about bad netcode with 64 players.

    The TTK/TTD in issue in BFV doesn't really give you high hopes regarding 'netcode'. The older titles are bad (BF4 is really really bad) and they haven't improved the TTK/TTD-issues in BF1 or BFV enough to give us any high hopes for future titles - actually BFV feels like a step back compared to BF1 (probably mostly due to general lower ROF in BF1).

    But they have taken a lot of time for the next title and hopefully they spent some time improving the basics of the Frostbite-engine, instead of just adding new (probably mostly unwanted) features to the game. Things like destruction are already 'good enough' in BFV and wasting even more network-bandwidth and server/client CPU-time on that, would not really be good for the game....
