Whats the Magnification setting for in the iron sights tab?

I'm not understanding it at all, what is the difference between the 4 settings? Examples if you dont mind please, thank you.

    Simple, you can select how much you want the screen to zoom when you aim down sights. Aiming with iron sights has always caused the screen to zoom in slightly in most first person shooters (typically 1.25-1.5X). In BF1 you can adjust it to fit your play style.

    Does increasing the magnification penalize your accuracy? I.e.. is the circle in the middle the spread?

    No, but your close range will be slower and BIGGER! You need to find a setting that best suits your style. Bigger number means more zoom. More zoom means slower close range gunfights. On many modern sights, the size of the circle indicates a mans chest size when viewed at 100 yards. The AA sights are different.
