Why are you keeping BF4 around DICE?

Look BF1 has its issues that need to be fixed but you are integrating BF4 with BF1 so players can jump between both.... why exactly??

Do you think a year from now people will still use that feature or play BF4.. a game that has been all but abandoned. If you are for real about keeping BF4 around something's need to be done to BF4 to keep it relivent so players don't go to COD or other tittles when they get board of BF1.. I will list a short list of what needs to be done to refresh BF4 and keep both games alive and well.

#1 map rotation on official servers and DLC packs. Unlock premium for everyone for FREE and have a variety of official servers running all the DLC maps. If you look at the browser other then a few custom servers they are all running vanilla maps. Not good when you play the same few maps all the time and there are a lot more you could play.

#2 prestige option and exclusive prestige content. Prestige should reset all you in game items as if you where lvl 1. There should be exclusive prestige lvl emblems, gun skins, dog tags, and it should all be all be based off progression with a class and particular weapon. This would refresh the game along with new map rotations and make it feel like a NEW beginning.

#3 graphics engine upgrade to the BF1 frostbite engine and reoptimization and each platform. I play PC and Xbox. BF4 vs BF1 on Xbox is a pretty decent difference. 600p vs 720p is noticeable. Reoptimization should be preformed and experience enhanced to make it feel fresh.

#3 premium supply drops or creates added to BF4. Add new unlockable that are independent from current supply drops. One premium supply drop is given every two ranks achieved in prestige 1 and the contain new player outfit skins, new longer lasting XP boosts, grenade skins (add the smile face from BC, make them pink, crazy stuff), vehicle specific skins, weapon sacrifice skins that are awesome! But you have to reach that rank to get. Give players stuff to work for. Cool cosmetics and think people really want.

#4 more UI upgrades, it needs to be the exact same as BF1. It still contains elements of the old UI. Transition completely to the new UI.

#5 Mew load screen images, fullfill a all new experience visually and upgrade the quality of the load screen as well as the after round menu. Make it look more advanced for 2017.

And

#6 BF3 DLC maps. There where some awesome maps in the DLC packs for BF3. If you release a content upgrade to being players back containing 1 map from all the DLC packs (most requested/popular) and add them to the game a lot of people would want to come back for all this and the people still playing would be blown away.

One last recommendation is to make the game $14.99 w/ premium included. At this point it's about market share. This would be the cheapest, most fun and more then likely most played game on all platforms. Rivaled only by BF1 and the newest popular games. Not to mention millions more would buy the game world wide all the time for years to come.

We are a couple years from another Bf game (hope is alive for BC3) so you would at that point have three different bit awesome interconnected games BF4, BF1 and BC3? Price points at 14.99, 29.99, and 59.99. All supported and refined. It's at that time support for BF4 could start to drop off. If you abandoned your games like CoD does you will end up looking like coda 50% sales drop off year to year.

Also This all builds up to the current release of the PS4 Pro and the soon to be released XB Scorpio. BF4 could be the go to game cause of quality, cost and replability on all new system cause of just how amazing it looks, plays and costs. This will also get more people into battlefield and increase sales margins of the new BF title currently available. Look what valve and steam do with CSGO.. a game that costs 14.99.

Please countine to make this game better DICE. Evolve this from 2013 to 2017. BF4 is to good to die. It can still make a fortune as long as the price is right and the game is refreshed.

Let the trolling begin

    Agree with #1

There's hardly any official servers. plus they need to include all the DLC maps in one rotation or new rotation, Large scale battles 2

BF4 is very much still alive. Obviously not as active, but there are still a ton on players on it, with new vids on youtube from players as well. A very underrated online shooter this from a SOCOM vet that is looking to fill that void.. to no avail as of yet.

There's still a large presence of Battlefield players on all Battlefield games except for 2142. Hopefully the next Battlefield game will be Battlefield Bad Company 3 because Battlefield Bad Company 2 was the best squad-based first-person shooter ever. To keep Battlefield 4 relevant they need to revive some maps from Battlefield Bad Company 2 like they did with Battlefield 3

threads like this are funny because people still play games that the OP of threads like this seem to think are only irrelevant to them. You might think a game is "dead" but guess what, people still play bad company and bf2 and 3 and even 1942 even though in my opinion, it's a horrible game. Others don't think it is irrelevant to them and enjoy playing it. Your opinions and huge list of crap is completely irrelevant to whether a game is still going to be played 5 years from now or not. But thanks for the giant list of opinions you have. it was funny to see all the things that you have to complain about.

Agreed, If BF3 on Last gen still has players which is six years old then I have no, absolutely no doubt that BF4 will stay alive especially since Bf1 and BF4 are completely different in visual and time period wise which is why in my opinion that BF4 will stay alive for even longer than BF3 since BF4 was a sequel and copied a lot.

3-5 more years. Even more depending on what the spinoff Battlefield will be.

    *choke* Supply drops? Nope.

An advancement similar to prestige would be ok, I think. Something like a golden emblem or an optional dogtag and a stat/unlockables reset.

A mix of maps on official is something that DICE failed hard on. It should've been done a long time ago. There is absolutely no reason to not have this, other than they just don't wanna do it. If a player doesnt have the next map in the rotation, they get automatically kicked, just like being inactive.
An alternative would be for DICE to make everyone premium and unlock all maps for everyone, dont even make it an option, just upgrade everyone and show them (the players) the next time BF4 is booted up.
If they can bring themselves to do this, BF4 will be around for years yet. If not, then alot less.

Inb4"why should premium be free when i had to pay for it" whining starts.

I paid too, day one, and its 1000% acceptable to give it away for free 3 years later.

as others have suggested, they need to give everybody all the DLC free, and include all DLC maps in the regular rotation with all the vanilla maps. it would refresh the game and give it much more variety, and probably longevity as well.

free free free free..... millennials these days.

why is everyone asking for free premium specifically to bf4 and only 4? in fact, why is anyone asking at all to begin with? you're not just paying for the dlc. you're paying for the work that went into making it and adding new weapons. you're paying for the time that went into doing it and paying for the future releases of new content in other battlefield games or new games in general all by those who have bills of their own to pay or families to provide for. you're not just paying for the content itself. by your logic, games in general that are older than X period of time should just be given away but you don't see that happening now do you? yeah EA and DICE take a huge cut of the money, it is a business afterall but the remaining portion after overhead and employment costs goes into the development of new games and content.

quit asking for free **** and get a job or go mow a couple of lawns or scrape snow off of driveways from the elderly who otherwise can't do it on their own and would rather see someone not old enough to go work at fast food do something with their lives that is productive because they would rather pay you 20 bucks than pay a service company 60+ to come and do it in 2 seconds with power tools.

y'all say you love this game so much and want to see it last then how about supporting the costs it takes to run the servers, the people whom make the game and the content in it and quit asking for free ****.

    Nice post Onyx .
Give the free-seekers their DLC's to keep them happy
    (then they gotta)
Give the Premium-payers the All-Weapons Unlock to keep them happy
    (then we gotta)
Give our respects to a dead gaming co. whose revenues evaporated , and to their laid-off staff , who won't be happy .

If you truly LOVE the game , you will happily PAY to play it .
See you in Hammerhead! (I'll keep the fire burning high , in case you're cold)

I BOUGHT PREMIUM so i got nothing for free. you must not realize that many of the people asking them to give the expansions away for free actually already own the expansions. next time you shouldnt just assume. you have no idea what you are talking about. we just want more players to play with. i just feel they should give the maps away for free now (the game is 3 yrs old after all), only for the reason of being able to include all of the expansion maps in the regular game mode rotation. this would really spice the game up, and make it feel fresh again. if "everyone" doesnt have the expansion maps, they would probably never add those maps in the regular rotation. there would be far too many expansion maps to just kick a player out of the lobby everytime they didnt have a certain map....... Sincerely, a Premium purchaser.

On the question of giving away Premium for free, it's really about economics. From the perspective of DICE and EA, the question is what level of revenue are they generating in DLC sales right now and how do those revenue streams project over the next year or two? That's part one. Part two is to look at your active BF4 player base and quantify how important it is to you to keep that group engaged for the next two years or whatever until the next Battlefield game comes out. Part three is to figure out if giving away all of the DLC for free would help you to keep that group engaged and if that's worth more or less to you than the current and future revenue projections from DLC sales.
