who answers on helpEA are simple operators and do not have the minimum competence to help you. They refuse to let you speak directly with the technical department. Unfortunately things in my opinion are 2:
    1) can not solve and clearly can not tell you (I think it's the most probable thing)
    2) he is not interested in the rented servers. just see how the game started. they were not planned.

but let's not fool ourselves. they are well aware of the problem. has been reported several times and with more tools (mail, help ea, bftracker, reddit, forum ea).

in all 2 cases they are guilty of not providing the slightest response to the client. I understand that it is impossible to implement, but we should close all our servers and invite our users (my server has 6500 favorites, others have up to 20,000) not to play for a few days. Maybe someone would answer you then.

For the moment I am able to remedy the following bug by filling the server early in the morning. But if you miss a few days then the server would be invisible to all users.

Even more serious is the bug of the 64/64 queue (1). It's been four months since EA support has not responded to this problem. In recent times it also happens 2 times a day. Forcing me to empty the server and start it several times during the day (which is really impossible if you happen after 9pm and if you do not have a big group of friends helping you).

I have the server since the first day and renewed several times until May 2018. If the problems are not resolved soon I will not renew. I would add that If the next battlefield does not have an optimal hired server system or it will not even be present (as battlefront would suggest) after 12 years it is likely that it will decide not to buy more battlefields. Maybe they did not understand that they have already lost several users for this bad management of rented servers and risk losing the bulk of the community that is running the series. I speak of clans and communities that need private servers for competitive and meeting points for their members

It looks to me as if the point of those chats is to show that, not only is support seemingly unaware of the problem, but also that they seem pretty clueless about what to do about it. This is NOT just a problem with HIS account, as far as I can tell, many, many servers (no way to get a count) are affected. It essemtially means that if the server owner (and only the server owner, since EA never let us designate co-admins) has to be around to wake up his\her server or nobody can see it in their favorites (or anywhere else) and play on it.

** There are a number of broader issues here... not just this newest, epic fail at providing custom servers, but also a continuation of the silence\lack of communication that any good\responsible business SHOULD maintain to keep faith with its customers.

    The silence is DEAFENING!

I'm not as upset as some are on here, but I will say this - if BF2018's servers are managed anything like BF1's servers, I am going to break my tradition of buying and playing all EA\Battlefield games in the future.

I have contacted a newspaper in the town where EA is located, asked them if they would like some information on a story...

Many of us (clan/community admins) have given up on RSP, EA never wanted it and does not support it. Very sad as BF had strong community support but now more like a console port.
I do not like the "improved player experience" EA claimed to be creating.

Do your communities plan on playing the next Battlefield installment?

NO !!!, As we expect no admin-able servers from EA going forward. There are alternatives.

Crash, you wrote: "EA never wanted it and does not support it..." I'm not saying you're wrong but I would like to know where that view came from. Has EA ever actually said (or written) that they don't want rentable servers? If so, where (and when), please?

No to said or written, view came from my/our experience attempting to use it.

These are their comments on it:

    https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/discussion/34210/battlefield-1-rental-server-program#latest

    https://forums.battlefield.com/en-us/discussion/75357/an-update-on-the-rent-a-server-feature#latest

however none at launch and still no where near what we had previously.

I had to wait for clarification to see if I was allowed to say this publicly.

This issue has been escalated and is under investigation.

Sorry its nothing more substantial, but you aren't alone, my own server does it too..

When you look at how horrible the RSP has been for this game and the lack of communication on EA's behalf on fixing critical issues, like Custom servers not showing up in the regular browser, it seems pretty obvious that EA is not invested in improving the RSP for the next game installment. If EA were committed to RSP and making it better so it't not a failure in the next game, they would be far more invested in providing better customer and technical support. My money is on them pulling the plug on rented servers. We'll be lucky if we still get a server browser.

I feel like a distinction should be made between those that develop this game and those that manage it.
While I have had my fair share of complaints and disappointments with BF1, I have to believe that there are devs who poured their hearts and souls into this game. The game engine has never looked better, the artwork is stunning, and all the research and attention to detail shows on the screen.
I was not going to buy BF1 at all, but EA\Dice actually got me interested enough to make it my main game for the past year or so.
I heard that EA started pulling devs off the BF1 project(s) to help "fix" BattleFront II, and so it may be that the lack of communication and relative slowness to address issues stems from the lack of sufficient devs . Don't get me wrong... I am still very upset at how BF1 was handled, and I will be waiting... and looking long and hard at the next BF title to see if I will buy it (when, just a year ago, that was a given).
So, while I think the management types at EA deserve some disdain, let's not automatically apply that to devs, who, in my experience, work their ARSES off!

Agree, EA is what is killing this. After all, they still hold title as "Worst Gaming Company"

There are a myriad of problems with BF1, we all know that, but I disagree with the theory that there will be no RSP for the next installment of the franchise. Even though may of the RSP and RCON changes have taken way, way to long, they have happened. I find it hard to believe that if they were not going to implement the current RSP/RCON in the next game, then way expend any resources on it now. Why finally fix the balancer or the white list or the ridiculously low number of bans? They could have easily let it go into the ether and never looked back, if they were going to abandon it altogether. I am more confident that what we see right now is what we will get with the next BF game title. I may be naive or just plain wrong, but even with the all of the asinine things that DICE/EA did with the PC community in the beginning of BF1, like nunber of players to start, no server controls, etc. and then the massive outcry that came from their asinine decisions, why would they want to restart that cycle again? And yes I know they are not fans of the PC or RSP or RCON but again it's there now there is no reason to dump it right @Braddock512?

You ask "why" or "why not" alot... That used to be a very legitimate set of questions. I fear that, at the moment, at least with EA, it boils down to: Is it "profitable" or not. And by profitable, I don't just mean "did it make more money than it cost to develop\sell," I mean, did it help EA meet its shareholders' expectations?
Microtransactions are a bane on the video-game world. Pay for full upgrades and significant DLC's? Sure, they represent new work and content creators should be paid for their work. ...but pay for individual items or upgrades? No way - when I shell out $120 like I did for BF1 (main game, then the pass), I expect to get a fully functional game, and if it's an online game, don't make it so that I am less powerful\have fewer options than those the spent $ where I did not.

To me an uneducated guess is that A) the development team for BF1 (and RSP) is light on the ground for crew so I appreciate the effort trying to be made by overworked developers (rightly anger should be towards EA for this balance). B) I also assume there will be RSP for the future because DICE hired Phogue (Procon Developer) likely with a long term aim to make this work, we're just unlucky that BF1 was likely the testing ground. Hopefully the next BF game will have RSP that continues to be developed from this point and improved further onwards.

cwarrent, I hope you are correct on RSP, however based on what we have seen(here & Battlefront) I doubt it.

    I got this reply.

Thank you for getting back to us. My name is Charlotte, I am the Specialist in charge of your case today.

While I appreciate your frustration and understand that you wish to receive a refund on the server, I am sorry to inform you that we cannot offer you with this option. This is the reason why I would suggest to try the steps advised by my colleague Cian. Please keep in mind that we can grant you wit the time you lost since the issue started.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Can someone tell me what, `Please keep in mind that we can grant you wit the time you lost since the issue started` into English?

And what is, `We cannot offer you with this option?`

And, finally, don`t tell me that you *can`t* refund the server, you just don`t want to...

    Certainly.
Any time you have lost on the server can be granted, extending the period you have.

That means they can't offer you a refund.

As far as can't and won't, that's something you'd have to argue with them.
