I thought they only gave the dlc's for free, not premium. Or did I miss it?

I had a problem with the Revolution sale in 2017 in which they gave the full premium plus deluxe version of the game for the price of the base game when only a single DLC had been released till then last summer.

I have zero issues with them giving the whole game away for free right now since all DLCs are out, those who bought premium previously got access to all them and the weapons for a good 6 months. If giving the DLC away now brings players back and DLC maps in the rotation, that's a win for me.

I am upset that the car I bought 2 years ago is being offered for thousands less now.

a car from 20 years ago is already ready for scrap, but a game from 1998 can still be played 40 years later if you still have the hardware for it(or an emulator), which is why when you buy a software you don't "buy" it but you are buying the license to use it.

premium was one step above the normal buyer, to get that extra service. but now the company gives out for free and it became worthless,

and another matter to make it worst, while spending ~130 hours on the game i was not able to finish a single piece of puzzle and that alone indicate the game have a f2p progress system similar to that of battlefront II(untill 4 month after release) in which players noticed that the top player is not far away from a guy who locks his controller with rubber string and go afk.

hell, even some guys who reached highest rank on battlefield 4 only touched the tip of the iceberg and they still have a long way ahead.

To spare you further grief. BF V will be discounted to less than 10 Dollars by 2022, likely earlier.

So better avoid paying 50 bucks now

the only reason I bought premium is to relive my self from when a DLC comes out, plus a VIP treatment since i had the money during that time.
but now that each DLC was becoming free thanks to DICE splitting the player base in the first place and premium is becoming free to grab for a few days it bothers me that I already paid for this without being compensated for my loyalty.
the least DICE need to do is to issue the highest amount of lootbox microtransaction for the people who paid before it got free(i blieve it's 50$)

You should be jumping for joy because it means more activate servers running DLC maps to choose from.

I wasn't around at the time to pick it up and I'm surely not paying for it now.

    true that

but I am talking about the battlefield 1 premium, which still has the "premium quota" and now most people will have it for free, all i am saying is to reward the people who paid for it before it became free with at least the maximum amount you can buy Loot boxes.

I see you haven't talked about the F2P progression system so i will assume you forgot to remove it

the problem is had it been a small Free DLC no problem with that, but this is the premium which is supposed to be the VIP experience.
so everyone gonna be VIP which defeats the purpose.

it's a season pass minus the shortcuts, the sort of where you get everything as soon as it's released.
but the problem is they don't repay the people who were already in.

why won't they?, they are trying to clean the mud stuck on the company after 3 failed PR campaigns with their newest game, if giving away the premium status was to please the fanbase then they also need to please the people who already PAID for it.

This is the least they need to do.

Ah, I just wasn't sure and didn't want to be patronising lol. Yeah the DLC has been given away free a couple of times now - that's how I got them as I bought BF4 after BF1. They also did the same with Hardline I believe.

Between us, my son and I have a quite frankly embarrassing 1600hrs on BF1. As a Premium player it owes us nothing. If giving it away keeps a few thousand more people in the player base then I'm delighted they are doing it.

Even more embarrassing is my 1650 hours done without a son's assistance

Dude! How do you manage to do a job and socialise and stack those hours? I'm at 333 hours which is 1 hour at the end of the day and then the odd weekend binge.

Altho I liked the idea of premium pass that brought many benefits to not only the consumer but the company aswell. $50 for bf1 was worth it and aswell as the titles before it. But, I also like that player base will no longer be separated and all maps and content will get action. It's an overall smart move by dice.

The game (BF1) was dying. If you didnt play at the weekend and on normal workdays. Only several Conquest maps and Operations maps were online. Not mentioning how manny players are affected to the stupid disconnects after the last patch.

This is how EA thinks to solve the problem, by putting stuff for Free.

What EA should do, open their ears, and be transparent to the community (and stop lying when there are problems).
