Who thinks BFV will be the best Battlefield since BFBC 2.

I just feel it. I felt it in the Beta. Even with the bugs I felt something special in the more tactical Vehicle and gun play. I felt it in the latest trailer showing the maps.

Maybe my hype is getting the best of me. Anyone else feel this way.

The firefights on Twisted Steel Bridge and Tank battles on Hamada should be extremely Epic.

Took 2 weeks of Vacation for this. Lol

Same feeling. Unfortunately, like BFBC2, I think most of the player base will leave once the next big fps comes out.

BfBC2 was off to an amazing start compared to BFBC1, but Black Ops stole half the community, and then BF3 stole the remaining half.

So many people have determined to not like this game because of attrition and no-premium.

But I might play this game for years.

Since BF4 for me. Only just played BC2 online last week, and its fun, but just not polished enough for me nowadays, but I would've loved it back in the day for sure. BF4 was the last BF I loved, Hardline I thought was alright, but BF1 was atrocious. But with the Beta for BFV, I found myself having a ton of fun, and I'm gonna have a few friends playing as well, so thats gonna make it even more enjoyable.

You aren't alone at all. I really feel like this could potentially be the best BF game of all time so far, I really do. The waiting to play BF5 is becoming almost physically painful...

Just one more week man! I'm literally almost jumping with excitement right now after watching a few of the videos on the Battlefield YouTube channel

It's funny, because I've watched most of the videos on Youtube with people dissecting the new map trailer, and in the comments there are A LOT less trolls and haters than in previous videos. I think people are finally like, "Okay, this game could be pretty good."

Could also be since its not the Battlefield channel, people are less likely to troll. I mean, it would be like going to a video of someone reviewing a movie and saying "This movie sucks", when that person didnt make the movie, if that makes any sense

No offense my friend, but you underestimate the tenacity of these trolls and haters, lol. But anyway, I hope the game is a smashing success so we can all rub it in their faces :) (Please don't screw this up EA)

BF1 was a very different take on Battlefield. The core pillars of the game mechanics, shooting, movement and effective class ranges where radically different from all the previous titles. BFV looks like it uses the same framework but has cut out a lot of the worst ideas, elites, explosive spam, sweet spots etc.

At this point I’m optimistic but cautious. The dev talks have communicated clearly what is going to be delivered and what’s been changed and why, which is refreshing. With a series so old it’s important to keep long time players in the loop about the titles direction as we are all invested in BF and want it to be good.

There’s going to be bugs and balance issues but it could be great. It’s got the potential but it’s going to have to survive the mauling it’s going to get at launch. The knives are already out for BFV.

I had cold feet at first but I’ve started to get really pumped about this title. I loved BF1 but this could potentially be even better. We’ll find out soon...!

As a self nominated BF fanboy (boy well... more like oldtimer) I somehow do not feel any hype at all for it. It is not due to the causes people been on about since first reveal trailer (women, customization, people of color etc).

It something else which I cannot put my finger on. 'On paper' I like almost every change done compared to BF1. I do like to mix up my infantry play with vehicles though and maybe it was the feeling of disappointment I felt when I first entered a Spitfire. I missed the speed and agility of my triplane from BF1 so it just did not feel right for me. I will most likely play it for the next two years though, just do not have the hype :).

For me BF1 was the best Battlefield since 2142. BF5 beta left a sour taste but I'm willing to give it a chance once I get it at Christmas.

Well if they didn't improve the trash aim feeling and ridiculous slowdown they had in the beta on consoles I won't stick around for too long either.

I thought the gunplay was the best we've had since BF4, maybe even better. You know you can get rid of the slowdown when aiming in the options, right? I cranked it all the way too the max and had no issues whatsoever after that.

I started with BF2:MC, (I so really miss the specialist class, DICE, bring back the Tracer dart gun, too) and the series improved up until BF3, BFBC2 being a gem of a game (Loved the M1). BF3 seemed to cater to the CoD crowd, so many additional crutches to help you stay alive, avoid traps, etc. plus the inclusion of hallway maps with three routes of travel and zero opportunity for flanking. BF4 was rough at release, and BF1 just leaves me cold. BFV, with limited ammo, 4 person squads, more defined roles, larger maps with multiple routes, plus adding fortifications, limited spotting and making a snowman are improvements over the 'eazy-peezy' gameplay the series has had lately. I can't wait, personally, and I hope I'm able to spend thousands of hours playing this game.

Well if they didn't improve the trash aim feeling and ridiculous slowdown they had in the beta on consoles I won't stick around for too long either. also they probabaly will reintroduce aim assist for high magnification scopes which is annoying as well.

I love how people hate on bf1 saying its the worst in the series and what not, completely ignoring the fact that bf1 did a lot of things better than any other game in the series before: gunplay (I'm looking forward to the first person thst wants to tell me that microbursting is a skill), netcode, general class balance... to just name a few.
another thing was the removal of aim assist for scopes as mentioned before. but apparently dice doesn't learn from their mistake and will reintroduce it with something called "magnetism" on slow rof guns... whatever that means.

    Edited for language. - EA_Cian

Gunplay had RBD and all the auto aim bells and whistles. You seem hypocritical here.

General class balance wasn't a thing until the first TTK patch. The first year was all assaults and bolt action snipers. I don't consider a year delay before something is good to be good. The first year's problems drove me away.

BF1 had some good maps, and cavalry. That's about all I give it credit for.

Not sure it will be the best but if it's beta is a good comparison it will be better then BF4, BF HL, and BF1. Each of theirs sucked by comparison.
  • If they fix the annoying bugs for the release, this should be by far the best BF EVER created.
The casuals and poor players will not like it, so the player base won't be all that big, but I think it has a chance to build a good, solid, intelligent player base.
