The CPU is rather old but it is still one of the best on the market. In the alpha and beta's I was getting above 100fps @1440 while flying planes and hovering around 70 on the ground.

One of the best CPU hovering around 70 with a 1080ti, huh. Thinking my i7 2600k and 980ti can do that.

Cools just as good, makes cabling easier, looks equally good to me, more natural position for the tubing and makes the leftmost memory module easily accessible without removing the cooler.

Yeah, I love ultrawide. I have had the monitor for a few months now. It is definitely more demanding than my old 1440p/144hz ROG Swift monitor. I was happy with my 1080 Ti at 1440p, but when I went ultrawide, I was no longer getting the high frame rates that I wanted. So, I upgraded to the 2080 TI and I am now getting similar frame rates on ultrawide as my 1080 Ti at 1440p.
