BF1 wasn't a Battlefield game, it was a horrible mistake.

I've been enjoying BFV a lot, but getting kinda bored with lack of maps. So today i went back and had afew rounds of BF1, and wow i had a lot of fun. It may not be realistic, may be a spam fest sometimes, but its just a fun game, way less camping, its a lot more fast pace and i duno what it is but the graphics just feel better, maybe its the art style , but it just feel a lot more atmospheric than bfv. The rain, the smoke the gass everywhere, the sense of chaos is great, and i didnt even realize thats what i missed with bfv.
BFV may have better gunplay, but it really seems to lack the fun.
The crazy big behemoth was just good fun, it didnt really do much but it never ever got old watching that thing crash and burn. I love the way it changed the battlefield as well. Now all we get in bfv is v2s ... yay?

If there was anything i could put into bfv from bf1 it would be more fun please, i feel bfv restricts some gameplay mechanics to keep it more realistic but by doing it it removes a lot of what makes bf fun. BF was never about being a sim shooter, it was somewhere in the middle of arcade and sim. You could do crazy **** and crazy **** always happend around you. I think i've laughed once in my 30 hours of bfv, i laughed like 2 times in 2 rounds in my quick go of bf1 today...

That's exactly it for me at the moment, just seems to lack the fun chaotic elements I experienced in BF1 and BF4

    Reasons:
1.No Behemoth which was very fun to play. For those who will bombard me saying it is overpowered, it was not and teams easily destroyed them most of the time.
2.Tanks are not really tanks and infact they are nothing but moving papers that gets destroyed by a single assault player with nearly no effort at all. Most Players like the Battlefield franchise because of the vehicles and this game definitely killed them... It is very clear that DICE wanted people to play as infantry especially that Battle Royale is coming out soon.
    3. BF1 had better graphics.
    4. Bf1 had a better and more friendly UI especially weapon customizations.
    5. No mortar which actually played a great role in WW2.
    6. No Elite kits, even COD WW2 had flame troopers DICE... this game doesn’t have it ? Weird.
    7. Ammo limitations.
    8. Vehicle limited repairs.
    9. Horrible server browser.
    10. Horrible revives.
    11. Map design is not as good as it was in BF1
    12. No 3D spotting which had been part of the franchise for a long time.
    13. No vote map. Which may probably be implemented later in the game.
    14. You are not able to switch teams, so if your friend is playing on a server on the other team you cant switch teams and play with him. I'm sure this might be fixed soon.
    15. Call of Duty BO4 has Battle Royale ! "DICE: We will also have it !! Why would they have it and we don't ??!! Lets ruin the Battlefield franchise and make this a battle royale game !!" .
    16. Lots of connectivity issues.
    17. Battlefield 1 and previous titles have MORE destruction than Battlefield 5.
    18. Censored chat in-game, are you kidding me ??!!

    1. Good. I'm glad they're gone.
    2. The panzerfaust just does too much damage.
    3. False.
    4. Agree there. So many button presses just to change class setups. Especially since you've got to do it for each faction separately.
    5. Less explosive spam, especially indirect damage from explosives, is a good thing.
    6. Also a good thing. We don't need elite kits.
    7. I don't really care for ammo attrition personally.
    8. I don't really use vehicles, so can't comment there.
    9. Server browser seems pretty much the same as BF1's to me.
    10. Revives are fine.
    11. So far I enjoy the BFV maps more than the vanilla BF1 maps. I wish there was more of them though.
    12. No 3D spotting (unless you're using specific gadgets or specializations) isn't really a bad thing imo. I don't mind having spotting though.
    13. Good, vote map ended up leading to pretty much the same exact maps being played over and over and over again.
    14. Good, you shouldn't be able to swap teams. Every time I've joined a friend, it automatically put me on his team.
    15. I couldn't care less for battle royal.
    16. I've had a few connectivity issues, not too many though.
    17. Disagree regarding BF1 destruction.
    18. Is there a setting to uncensor chat? Not sure. Haven't checked.

The biggest negative for me would be that class balance is pretty terrible right now. Assault pretty much dominates in everything. Except for the KE7 on support. The next would be that the game seems pretty lacking in content. Not enough maps. Not enough weapons. Hopefully more get added soon.

I been Grinding medic and my kdr was all over the place and as soon as I went to play support to complete some assignments my kdr started to go up when using the ke7 and even the Assault's default weapon that you start with helps the keep my kdr up, so medic class smgs in a way need bit of a buff to even bring the class's weapons to a balance.

BFV is just smudge madness... it's blurry as hell, and gives me headaches because there is nothing sharp to focus on.. if i open up bf1 it's sharp as can be

Have you tried turning off motion blurr and all those settings like film grain? Makes the game look alot better.

This post actually made me want to get the game now...I was holding out for initial reactions, but if what this guy is saying it sounds like they reversed a lot of what I disliked regarding BF1. Nice.

Come on over brother, feels nothing like casualfield 1.

    Right now I've got a 2.9 assault KDR, a 2.3 Recon KDR, and a 1.9 Medic KDR.

I haven't played support much. Only twice in fact. But the KE7 was definitely a very easy to use and potent weapon. Out of my only 2 times playing the class, I've got a 2.3 KDR on support.

Right now Recon has my most time played. Mostly because I've been working on AL8 mastery. Followed very closely by Assault. Which I'll be working on M1907 SF mastery with soon.

Class aside the biggest KDR swing I’ve noticed is playing solo vs with friends. Solo my kdr is around 2-1 but with multiple people around who revive it is easy to get 10+-1.

Obviously some bad blowouts with the team stacking bug we had the first few days but hopefully continue to see improvement.

Anyway, V feels amazing, 1 can hopefully be forgotten with some therapy.

Bf1 was a huge step back for battlefield. pick up kits and behemoths where a joke for anyone who has played sense 2. BFV is a big step in the right direction. Hopefully we get a bf2/bf4 style bf2143 next.

    Behemoths are dumb

    mortars are dumb

Bfv graphics look better in my opinion

    Reviving is better

I would agree with map vote, but with 8 maps glad it isn't in.

Ammo limitations suck, I agree, but now I'm a support player.

I'd imagine dice just wants to be done with browser and rented servers and it's all gotten worse with each launch so I can agree with browser and all that. UI is also pretty crappy.

I loved BF1. Part of the reasons why i love bf1 because after playing BC2, Bf3, Bf4, it was a nice change of pace because they added in new things and made some neat changes, not all good. So it felt fresh. BF1 vs BFV, BF1 knocks BFV out for the count.

    BF1 reasons it's better:
    1. Sound
    2. Graphics
    3. Maps
    4. Menu system
    5. 5 man squad system
    6. Implemented female character properly into the game. I'm sorry i don't want to see on the allies, Chinese female assaults/snipers/supports/medics. Nor do i want to be the Japanese in bfv with white American soldier characters
    7. Better looking characters
    8. Camrose had great call outs(bf3 has the best) sound team on bfv fell asleep at the wheel
    9. Unique looks for each class, (tankers, pilots, elites)
    10. Loved the Elites
    11. spotting
    12. Vehicle movements
    13. dynamic weather
    14. gas grenades
    15. explosions
    16. revive system
    17. End round map selection
    18. Emblems
    19. Skins for weapons and vehicles
    20. Better class upgrades (perk system)
    21. Behemoth (yes they were pointless, it could of been implemented better, but they were still cool)
    22. Bayonet charging
    23. Gas Mask
    24. No stupid fortifications
    25. No Battle Royal
    26. Better operations
    27. Better Frontlines
    28. Rush
    29. Better Anti Air options
    30. Improved sniping.
    31. horse vehicles

    What BF1 Did wrong:
    1. Casino Style upgrade loot boxes . You technically could play this game to the end of time, and never get that final puzzle piece for that knife you always wanted the way they have it set up
    2. Random deviation on some of the weapons
    3. Spent way too long to release the DLC
    4. Incrusions- total waste of development time
    5. Terrible challenge system-medals-
    6. Overly time consuming phantom program
    7. Lack of gore and blood splatters
    8. New conquest
    9. lack of map support for game modes- they let pigeon, frontlines, drop zone pretty much die away on PC
    10. 1 size fits all weapon balance across each platform

you say that like bf1 was the only bf game with it. did you play bf2? or 3, or 4.... its always been a thing. Tbh i found it a lot less of an issue in bf1 than i did in previous bf games. BFV is a good game, but it fees like bf is going to a new direction, its shifting towards people who want more realism, those people that love arma, rainbow six ext. Personaly i dont like those games, dont have the patience for them. I love bf games because they were always in-between serious and arcade. I still enjoy it but i feel if the nxt bf game moves even more toward the realism , realistic style we are just moving farther away from BF of old. Shame.

    I agree about two points:
    - Yes mortars should've been included (maybe they will be in the future), they were a nuisance in BF1 but more of a mosquito kind always buzzing but rarely hurting
    - Yes Elite kits should've been included such as flamethrowers but without the extra health and shield. just a weapon drop that you can pick up and use. you get headshot you die, just as you would in any other class

One thing DICE needs to remember, most of us here don’t even care about battle royale.

Don’t play it then, it’s not compulsory. Why is this even an issue?

I hope they never bring back map voting, it's a trashy feature that ruined map rotations on BF1 along with the assignments tied to certain maps. However if they do bring it back, it should be a feature a server owner can enable.
