Hey Battlefield V Community,
Today we released the Battlefield V Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes Update 01152019 update that has implemented the following improvements:
Full Update Notes: Battlefield V Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes Update Notes

Update Highlights

Squad Conquest
A tighter and more intense version of Conquest, in Squad Conquest two squads per team battle it out over smaller, more tactical layouts of three existing maps: Arras, Hamada, and Rotterdam. These maps all feature 16 players on two teams, three flags, spawning restricted to HQs, and limited access to vehicles. Clear lanes and conservative combat areas allow players to predict where enemies are coming from, where they need to defend, and how to subvert enemy movement. Learn more about Squad Conquest.

New Weapons
These are some of the weapons that will be obtainable through the Weekly Challenges in January and February:
  • Zk-383 SMG (Medic class)
  • Modele 1944 semi-automatic rifle (Assault class)
  • M1922 MMG (Support class)

Time to Death and Death Experience Fixes
We’ve made a number of changes in these areas:
  • The name of the enemy that has killed a player is now shown in the game world when the player has died. This highlights the killer and helps players understand who killed them and from where, especially in crowded situations.
  • The death experience has improved with the addition of a camera that now follows and zooms towards the killer. This will allow players to understand what killed them and the position of the killer.
  • The accuracy of the visual representation of incoming bullets for other players has been improved. Tracers should now properly appear to consistently appear from the shooter and should be clearer when the victim is looking directly at the shooter.
  • An issue was fixed with the UI directional damage indicator that delayed the indication of damage to the victim.
  • Tweaks were made to the UI directional damage indicator to more accurately point towards the enemy damaging the player.

As you play Battlefield V and experience these improvements, please head back here and let us know what you think: the good, where we need to improve, and additional suggestions.

Glad to see some fixes coming in. I wish you guys would consider making the grenade damage better...use to get plenty of kills with grenades on bf4 and previous titles, but now they are weak and I rarely get a kill with them. Also, getting 99 hit points on a person might should be rounded to a kill. If you spray someone will bullets they should die or at least be wounded enough where they need a revive. I constantly hear people complaining about this "99 hit points and he's still alive". Just something to consider. Looking forward to more maps in the future and hope they are creative...Arras, Twisted Steal, Rotterdam, Panzerstorm, cool maps. I don't think anyone likes being sniped from across the map... flags should be far enough apart where this doesn't happen or have high enough terrain between flags. Love big maps with lots of vehicles...miss the motorcycle. Maybe throw that in there later. It's fun to go fast on a bike when people are all shooting at you. Been playing since the inception of Battlefield so I am a big fan. Keep up the good work.

The biggest issue for me is the endless loading screen. Nearly every match I play ends up with this and I have to restart the game in order to do anything else.

EA, I love battlefield games and this one pleasantly surprised me. I'm having a great time with it but in hopes that you guys read these posts, I do have a request that I'm sure you're already aware of. Additional factions in WWII need to be put into a higher priority (At least the other main factions such as Japan, United States, Russia, etc.) because there are so many fascinating conflicts that happened at this time. I don't know your company's roadmap but I truly believe that this is what will really draw more players in. Again, I'm loving what I've seen so far but only having two factions tends to stale the experience a little.

Also Erthie is right, at least having the option for this stuff is greatly appreciated.

As a side note, I'm not sure why games are getting more "casual friendly". do new players actually find it that hard? I thought the challenge was why these games were fun! Also it doesn't take that much energy to figure out how someone killed you. I think BF1 did it well without shoving the player's face in it.

    Hello guys,
First of all I'd like to say hello to your QA engineers.
    1) How can I adapt the visual presentation of my soldier on different maps?

    2) The same thing about weapons.

    3) I agree with BFB-LeCharybdis about footsteps.
    4) When my soldier dies, it looks like he is an actor, who still doesn't have Oscar. It takes about 6-8 seconds for agony. And killcam. Please look at BF3 or BF4, it was fast and easy to locate your killer. Now I see trees or ground, or wall TOO CLOSE.
    5) Sound of planes. When plane dives, it sounds like I'm in the Heathrow, right on the runway.
    6) What about New Mode: Squad Conquest. Do you have any servers?!
    7) Trace bullets from recons. Am I the only one who don't see them (my bullet or enemy's bullet, it doesn't matter)?

BUG REPORT: Don't ask me to use the bug report feature as I have entered this one 4 times already and each time it will not proceed beyond 'preview' despite me having checked every box and filled in every part of the form.

    PS4 Europe, 15.01.18 17:00

    Grand Ops on Narvik

Started Day 1 as Germans. Finished round. Loading screen for Day 2 had text at bottom right of screen saying "Game Full 1 in Queue". Day 2 loaded and I was on the British side on a different Narvik operation with different players and in a different squad. I had lost ALL score and kills from the previous Day in the operation.

Can I repeat it? No idea but I saw someone else post in the forum that this had happened to them.

Naturally the match should continue with the same teams, score, kills etc.

Kill cam is not that bad but it is just to hide that time to spawn was increased... keep kill cam but let us die quickly as before... and dont hide changes you have made, there is nothing about spawntime icnrease in the change log

Also own footsteps are way to loud now...im feeling like Im a fat guy running thru the dirt..
