The issues I have is trying to vault, when I would just rather just step over or jump over an obstacle. All the animations are a bit immersive I think and you usually think twice before jumping out a window now....haha

The Medic revive breaks up the gameplay. Trying to revive a teammate on PS4 isn't a smooth operation, it's too disjointed because of the animation. At around 3 seconds for the process (assuming you hit the square button at the right moment) and if you revive around 60 players, it's quite easy to spend around 3 minutes watching the same animation. In a 30-minute game that's 10% of playing time. The result is that the Medic class is not much fun to play.

If you can't be bothered to spend even just 10% of your play time reviving, why be a medic? I don't understand why everything has to be so fast.

Maybe its just me, but i dont see the issue with spending 3 minutes out of 30 getting revives. And that's an extreme example regarding 60 players like you said. Im sure most medics don't get more than about 10 or so.

If anything, you just have to think before you revive now

    People will whine about anything

Its almost like they're passionate about a franchise they enjoy.

    Look how he vaults @1:55:

Simple. No stupid animation. Just a button click and he climbs the wall. If a Dice dev is in that Respawn studio when they designed this vault he probably would get a stroke and redesign it with an animation, a delay, reduce the vault hight, and break the vault recognition sensor. voilà!

The people making the design decisions at DICE appear to care waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more about how cool something looks than how fun and smooth it is to actually play.

Exactly!! They're artists. The devs who made Dice a gameplay-first studio years ago are probably no longer Dice devs. The studio seems more interested in artistic elements and things that look good in videos and trailers rather than actual gameplay.

Unfortunately, its been that way since Battlefield 3 which introduces a lot of bad legacy decisions that still plague the game today. The addition of vaulting that doesn't work, the need for gimmicks(levelolution, behemoths, etc) and Suppression(which thankfully ended)

It's almost as if DICE forgot how to make high quality games. Now, the past iterations of battlefield were still fun, but they could have been way better if they focused on improving core mechanics instead adding more gimmicks. I'm so annoyed when they do that crap when I know dice is capable of doing more than just gimmicks.

Doc the same thing. Doc said that they're more focused on the artistic side instead of the gameplay side and said that when he worked at sledgehammer games, the game designers and level designers would take precedent over the artistic designers and he doesn't feel dice does that.

Bump because the patches have done very little if anything to fix this huge problem, and as they are in the terrible engine they will likely never be perfected. Out

Unfortunately Dice devs have always been about form over function. Things like the nauseating headbobbing run animations and extreme screenshake from bc2, to supernova suns and suppression spraying vaseline all over your screen in bf3, to counterknifing in bf4, all the way to all the needless animations they've added for everything in bf5. Not to mention they haven't fixed vaulting since they introduced it in bf3.
