Anybody who purchased 'Premium' is an idiot. Don't buy promises. Buy products. They took your money, and farted-out a bunch of entirely forgettable dreck that everybody complained about for a few weeks, before they went back to the vanilla rotations and a resumption of shrill demands for more maps (rinse, repeat).
I didn't even expect the PT (if that's what it is...). If the content is of good quality I'll consider it more than adequate, for free. But it's a bit soon top judge eh? No dev can keep-up the quality and quantity demanded by the overweening entitlement of their most 'dedicated' 'fans'. This is why they don't tell you **** ... grow up. If you're bored, take a break - you can come back anytime, or not. Nobody really cares.
You won the price for the dumbest comment today.
LMAO. Ok dude - where can I collect my 'price'? Boy I hope it's contractual promise that you'll leave the game and never come back. Or a Caspian Border 24/7 rental server. Y'all don't need new maps, you need pacifiers.
Would Like to See the new YouTuber Vids on this topic and how they would sell IT to us thats its great because its all free.
Westie already said that chapter 4(Which only includes 2 maps) is "Choke full of maps" and he is super excited for it. At that point I just closed the video because I my BS meter exploded.
Remember guys. Not long till they take more money off you for your boins
Lol no. I for real had few hundred euros stored away to buy premium cosmetics for all of my soldiers when they become available. But hell no, I ain't gonna to spend any more money on this game after what I've seen today.
But the player base isn't split and that's all that matters......
Thank God for this 🙄🙄
All you salty trying to blame customers for wanting a solid product.
As someone who has bought every DLC and Premium since Road to Rome and Secret Weapons I can honestly say I wasn't going to buy BFV Premium even if it was a thing. I've never felt like I got my monies worth.
And yeah, it literally did split the player base. In my clan not everyone would buy Premium so our clan could only play vanilla. Why should I pay for that?
Many other games, including F2P games manage to charge a premium for premium accounts but don't pay wall maps. Amazing that.
But continue blaming the customers for the developers not delivering. Super constructive.
Very depressing. No new maps for months, a BR mode I dont want, if I wanted it I would play a game specialising in it, hackers running riot with no fear of consequence and Rush removed, what a way to ruin what was once a great franchise.
ITT: People angry that they spent their money on an underperforming product and demanding EA to go back to their extremely consumer-unfriendly business practices so they can spend even more money on their products.
Don't get me wrong, Dice is completely incompetent at delivering post-launch content by the way they're handling battlefront 2 and bf5, but asking to bring premium back is just asinine. It's like getting out of prison only to beg to be let back in because prison gives you free food and bedding. Why would you guys want to support EA's greed? Have you already forgotten how much paid DLC splits up the community, or the fact that you have to pay at least double the price of the game to get everything?
Meanwhile there are plenty of other games, both free and paid, that are doing just fine with a live service model. Rainbow 6 Siege, Fortnite, and Apex Legends are all thriving because their developers are actually capable of supporting their game past its launch date. The fault lies on Dice and EA, not on the live service model. Stop trying to shoot yourselves in the foot by asking for premium back.
Actually a new map drops on Monday. It is just the fact that it seems like people get stuck on one thing and are not wanting to expand their horizons. Now while I also want new multiplayer maps I have been trying out all of the new stuff that has been introduced and it has kept me entertained. Also just because you dont fancy a certain piece of content doesnt mean that others don't. Combined arms may not be the greatest but it has recently allowed me to get my wife to play bf and the fact that we can play together without her feeling like she has no chance to understand how to get the feel of playing has actually made her want to play more. I get to teach her in a controlled environment to hopefully get her to enjoy playing the game. Firestorm may actually be fun but what it will be something new to explore. I'm not a big br fan but this actually has a different flow it looks then other br games.
I personally think premium wouldnt have made a difference because you still have months to wait for content to drop and in the end you get the same amount. With live service you basically have a update window that should be more consistent unlike premium where you pay up front and may not actually like some if not all the dlc that drops. With live microtransactions are not mandatory but premium is you pay or you dont play. I like this game as I also have liked all the bf games and while I will say this game has had a rough beginning I will say that instead of me allowing this to ruin my fun I would rather just find whatever fun I can have with it.
I just want to ask the community this...when did video games become so serious that you cant find entertainment and fun in them anymore? Why can you not have a day when you decide to channel your inner young self and not worry about stats but instead find crazy ways to play and have fun. I really am glad I discovered bff's videos and watching them makes me feel like this is what makes games great isnt just what the devs do but what you can do to make the game a enjoyable experience. I really dont care about any salt or negative responses to what I have had to say but I am pretty sure people will let me know that I am a bad person for not hating something or being overly harsh on the devs. Have at it I hear so much toxic and negative post on here I have actually grown numb to it😋
It seems like Dice made the content just for you. When people said they game modes that no one asked for they should have said game modes that oXGeminiXo was asking for.
You should understand that not everyone want's to play firestorm. BR concept is not new and I for one already know I don't like it. I play battlefield for the 64 player conquest.
We have so so many BR games, so no Firestorm is not a new map for battlefield.
i'm really wonder - this Live service was supposed to earn money for EA/Dice pretty constantly, right ? We are close to April and it's clear that they are not getting money from this at ALL. Cosmetics are total failure. So how EA are going to earn $ ? Battle Royal ? I personally don't even want to touch this mode because i'm not fan of it. And i suppose Firestorm should be a Free To Play game separate from the main game without 60$ price tag.
The live service delivery wouldn't have been such a disaster if the content that was being created wasn't so irrelevant.
Why was BR chosen as a major piece of the content mix for BF?
Why was combined arms created for a large scale multiplayer game?
Why was time spent on a training ground?
Why constant changing of game modes?
Don't blame the players for Dice/EA's terrible judgement in what they thought would make the best BF yet. This game could easily have been amazing with live service if the content supported the actual core game.
I wish people would stop blaming players for the no paid dlc plan. Dice / EA did it. They wanted a live service model and a BR game. They couldn't do paid dlc too,. They barely delivered a base game and that's even questionable if you consider all the "coming soon" menu items and bugs. Many of which still exist today.
I hate the "Live Service" model just like everyone else but don't blame your fellow gamers. We were ALL taken advantage of.
The future of BF is not looking so good and that's sad. Greed strikes again ....
We all know BF V was still a beta game at release. Remember all the "coming soon" tiles on the BF V home screen?
In hindsight, it would have been better if there were DLCs, like in BF1, because Dice offered you new content & you then decided if you want to buy it or not.
With the live service model, I've already paid my money up front, without any guarantee that I'll receive new content. This live service model is not working for me.
BF V was doomed from the start, with the infamous "if you don't like it, don't buy it", confusing trailer, delayed release date, etc. I'm actually surprised we got this far.

Live service could have generated money for the game if Dice had actually delivered on competent paid customization, and they didn't shoot themselves in the foot with their terrible PR and launch issues.
You can bet this game has missed every expectation EA had for it, so because of this there is no chance for the live service model to even work properly and deliver the content the game still needs.
But the player base isn't split and that's all that matters......
It is. Even though I think they can do better with the amount of new maps, I rather have fewer maps which will always be populated and in rotation than have 4 new maps at once that only premium members play for a month then are forgotten about forever (until they end up giving it away for free years later).
What premium maps died off 1 month after release??
A few of the Turning Tides ones weren't all the popular if memory serves but the mixed servers they added later helped quite a lot I think.
I remember game modes dying more than maps - like Supply Drop and Air Assault (might have got the name wrong there).
Premium should be structured as payed for early access to DLC and released to everyone a month after each release. We all get maps, us premium lovers get guaranteed stuff on a set time scale, no community split and everyone gets to play together with dlc added to vanilla rotation for all.
Its the sensible solution and I know many would still buy premium for 1 month early access. They could also keep stupid skins as a cash bump throughout the years too.
Honestly I think the "live" service just got a bad launch, just like the game itself. There is no premium content now 1/3 of a year down the road. I don't know how many people have bought the game or what drop off is normally like in the BF franchise but it strikes me they have seriously missed the best opportunity to get people to buy Boins and spend them on cosmetics.
I believe, and have no proof of it, that a lot of this. Has to do with the wall of rejection that hit their Steampunk distopia WWII cyborgs with Fortnite style hair and clothing they wanted to launch with.
If they'd launched most of what they currently have, with some of it premium, people would have bought it.
By now many of the impulse buyers have moved on. When premium skins drop there *might* be a wave of interest from people who want something different but by now most of us are playing with the setups we have.
Honestly when was the last time you played Barbie with your BFV toons?
