What if we could at least choose our melee weapon? That little dagger sucks. Speaking of that, has anyone tried any of the other melee weapons? Are they any better? I’ve picked them up, but never actually used them. If they actually make a difference that would be something. Or maybe we all start with a sidearm.

The problem with all starting with an STG or something is that every hot zone would immediately be a firefight and many people’s rounds would be even shorter.

seems like the melee weapons got the same stats from bf1 (at least for regular bfv)
that means bigger weapons like pickaxe or kukri do slightly more dmg but got a smaler ankle to "knifekill" someone from behind AND got slower attack speed.
So with small knifes u can "1 shot kill" from behind and nearly from the side but u do less dmg to the frontside while bigger weapons just can "1 shot kill" straight from behind but do more dmg to the frontside.
i don't know if it is the same for firestorm cuz it doesn't feel like Battlefield at all...

And for the "start with STG"...
maybe there were no more hotspots or it just would change the gameplay for Firestorm to make it more different to all the other BR games...

(everything i write is just MY opinion!)

Like rest of BFV, this is buggy mess. Communication does not seem to work, at least on PS4

Appreciate the feedback. Got any specific details on why?

Hey first of all, nice to read something from u here.

I just can speak for myself and maybe some of my clanmates.
We had the hope that firestorm would be a part of BFV and not a different game, firestorm is a normal BR game like all the others.

I think it would be really good if firestorm would share the regular BFV mechanics...
without armor, with normal medikits, revives, with the different classes!!

why can't we drop as a full equipped squad with the weapons (and weapon specialisations) we wan't to start with?? just let us choose our loadout (remove 6x scopes is okay)
and than go for the other squads and hunt them down... without the luck part!

that would be the Battlefield way BR i would like to play!!!

Yeah that will never happen sadly, cuz u decided to make a regular BR and not a Battlefield one.

Hey Braddock512, I just wanted to respond to this and say the whole point of the BR is that you have to search for weapons on the ground. Many say this is pure luck; in my experience it takes skill and strategy to search for weapons on the ground. You have to choose where to drop, move under cover, etc., and is not pure luck. The thrill of finding a great weapon is only a thrill because of the other games where you don't find it.

For those that like the ability to choose classes and load outs, the other game modes are already available. I think Firestorm is dope the way it is.

maybe u are the guy who can tell me how it is skill and not luck...
to drop on a spot and go to the left house where u get a t1 sniper and the guy who went to the right house get the same sniper but t3???

maybe i just don't get how that would be skill...
i don't see the "even play field" can someone open my eyes

In that case you have to realize you have a terrible weapon to use up close, so you need to be skillful in how you respond. Wait the other guy to take off, find a way to run without giving him a line of sight on you, use your skill to go to a different part of the map and try and find a different weapon. I like Firestorm because it makes you adapt to the situation at hand, whereas if you were able to pick your weapons you would just play the same way over and over again - which is why there are other game modes for people that like it. I just like the extra challenge and the way you had to adapt to a situation - some call that "luck" but for me I call it "fun."

u are right somewhere... i also got many BR players on my friendlists who enjoy that mode.
so maybe i should accept that BR is not my game

what i want is more of a 64+ player "king of the hill" and "squad king of the hill" on a big map...

LEAKED notes from the DICE/EA dev team on firestorm.

Bubbles: Hey guys I have an idea!

Harambe: Yep cool, lets hear it because we haven't got a clue.

Bubbles: Ok so, how about we get all the things that are super **** about PUBG and Blackout, right?...AND then we implement it into our BR so that EVERYTHING leading up to combat as well as after is absolute dog ****.

Harambe: That sounds **** but I cant be **** developing this game - they already paid for it and there's no further income from DLC.

EA Boss: I LOVE IT! DO IT!
    ************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************'

These notes are legit guys my dad worked for EA as the zoo keeper (and could get you banned if I want)

Also in regard to a previous comment a full kit drop on a larger starting ring would probably be a lot of fun with a ammo shortage and zero attachments (both of which you'd have to find).

Spent a game skulking around. Contributed to the death of one player but he drowned. Eight players left. Creeping around. Get the drop on another player. Open fire. Game, which has been performing perfectly all round, hits me with a lag spike as the enemy I had the drop on turns and gets to kill a sitting duck.

    **** awful experience, Dice.

I really want to love Firestorm but unfortunately i live in Australia, QLD..... pings of average games are around 260!
It doesn't just make it hard to play, it really does make it UNplayable.

For me Firestorm would be so much better if they got rid of the armor, set it apart from apex, COD, fortnite, and bring it back to a more simulation approach.

Firestorm lives up to its name. Where to "drop in" has my hands already clammy. Seeing enemies dropping in right beside me, I know there might be a firefight. Question is. Where's the Gun? The game mode is probably the most difficult game mode, I've had the "insane" pleasure of experiencing.
(Talk about I great competition on the solo game mode, jeez what did I get myself into?)

I don't understand why people don't want armor? It helps balance the game, from "dome hunters" Just join TDM if you want to run and gun. I agree with another BFV player, part of the fun is trying to find a weapon. I've had my experience of going after the same weapon, trying to beat another player. Do or die, time. just to be gunned down. (Oh, excuse me was that your gun?)

Now, for my little grip. I don't know if we could meet in the middle. Headshots, if we find body armor, it shouldn't protect the head. Helmets should be part of the survival but it probably won't be feasible since people don't understand what's going on in the inventory. (Or make it longer than it already is.)

You should hide scopes in barrels. (Take a chance on alerting an enemy near by?)

This game mode isn't for every one. It's crafty and nifty with danger burning down the house.
Good luck out their soldiers, check those corners. Lol

After a few hours of adapting, I am really starting to enjoy Firestorm. However...
Please add in a duo mode, Dice.

They need to add in a region system so we can choose to only play on aussie servers even if it takes another 5 minutes to find a game its better then playing on other servers. They need to fix that or the game will be dead in a week for aussies.

Yes I did address the fanboy topic but I also addressed that firestorm couldn’t possibly be ahead of pubg in terms of fixes when it just launched. (Even though in my opinion as far as how good it plays it’s already ahead in my opinion)

Right on. Just wanted to address the bickering/name-calling.

And we are looking to push an update for BFV out next week that has a whole host of fixes/tweaks to Firestorm as well as BFV vanilla.

    -Braddock512

Will they be adding region match making for firestorm so we can make it only find australian servers because since it has come out i have only found about 5 australian lobbys and all the others im on 200 ping or higher. i would much rather wait longer to find an aussie game with good ping then get thrown into other country servers which are unplayable.

For half the day there are no Aus servers. 200-300 ping. I like firestorm but there's no point playing when it's like that.

I've played a couple of games of Firestorm. Never played BR before, so it was a bit of fun to start.

My skill level is pretty poor (play about an hour a week), so I usually get shot in the back early in the game. This wouldn't be so bad if I could get into another game quickly. Wait time (in Australia) is quite long, so I usually lose patience after two (short) games.

Until they fix the local server issues, it's not worth my time to play this game mode.
