and some of the shots don't obey logic or geometry.

So we are to believe that you know the exact trajectory and everything of all the bullets shot at you?lmfao, I would have deleted this post out of embarrassment by now.

For me it is ok if its a head shot, but when they kill you with one bullet without head shot, thats just stupid, specially when aim assist is so strong again, they need to remove sweet spot, that is just stupid....sorry for english

That literally never happens in Battlefield V. There isn't a single sniper rifle that will give you a One-Shot kill if you don't hit them in the head in the entire game unless you're already wounded. If you got one shot killed by a sniper rifle, that means they hit you in the head.

Snipers weren’t this bad in other battlefield games. More and more people are becoming snipers now or campers. For u guys that are snipers how fun is it to just sit in the same spot the entire match. You guys are losers. I was in a couple squads earlier were everyone was a damm sniper. Switched squad same thing everyone sniper. No one capturing flags or helping other squad members. There should be a game mode that bans snipers like battlefield 1 where certain matches ban some types of weapons to make match more even. F snipers.

I’m a sniper but I don’t stay in one spot lol that’s a great way to get shot in the face.

Besides I’m usually sniping from a flag then move to the next flag least in bf1. Can’t speak muchbon bfV anymore I quit playing it

Snipers are a part of war, and therefore a part of the game. The snipers have taken a major nerf since BF1. Im sorry that you are getting killed, might i suggest using cover. Geometry in not out of wack so im not sure as to what you are talking about. Perhaps you are suffering from the "I dont know how i got killed" issue. All i can say is know your environment and hopefully it will dry those tears away.

You're lumping all scouts as all having the same play style, why?

Sure I'll admit quite a few players who uses the scout class sits on the edges of maps with a beacon and a long range scope, BUT not everybody who plays scout does that.

I sure as hell dont sit in a safe space at the edges of maps when I play as a scout, 9 times out of 10 I'm on the front line using iron sights, a revolver, spotting flares, and throwing knives.

Besides, having snipers on your team is a valid strategy, otherwise you will just be sniped by enemy snipers as you attack flags, so there at least needs to be snipers on your team to counter snipe the enemy snipers.

It depends quite a lot on the game mode and the maps.
They are far better in operations then in conquest.
Count them in Conquest on Fort de Vaux.

There are a few of us insane scout players that play up close relying heavily on secondaries and flares. There is a reason I have 100 service stars on the obrez and almost 70stars on one knife lol.

can't move without a sniper head shot. ruining game. get some guts and get in the trenches.

Use smoke grenades and cover. I rarely get headshot unless I'm asking 4 it

Its ridiculous to even conceive of Battlefield without snipers. Did snipers exist in WW1? Of course. The only ones ruining Battlefield 1 are the hackers/cheaters.

You're not sniping if you're playing aggressive Scout.  From the dictionary - "snip·er
    /ˈsnīpər/
    noun
    1. a person who shoots from a hiding place, especially accurately and at long range.
"he was killed by a sniper's bullet in the Great War"

No, I remember BF1 being just as bad, and worse at times. BF4 was the same way, but i was playing hardcore

I think the problem is not necessarily the sniper class as such but rather the overuse of the class. For example what happens to me in both BF 1 and BF V is that i will zig zag and dodge several sniper shots only to be hit and killed off by the 3rd/4th shot from a 4th sniper. So its the too many snipers shooting at one target that's the problem. At their combined rate of fire its like trying to dodge a rapid fire high damage weapon which makes getting from piece of cover A to piece of cover B very difficult (so I understand the argument of 'learn to use cover' but that works if you actually have moments when you can advance from cover to cover). I think limiting the number of snipers and medics would make the game more interesting. Both in BF 1 and BF V you also get the massive number of medics reviving whole squads after you multi-killed a bunch before going down. If they limited 1 sniper per squad and 1 medic per squad i think it would a) give more varied play and b) encourage squads to work together. Of course I understand this would be very frustrating for people if they like a specific class and don't want to play a variety of classes.

Snipers aren't overpowered.  The problem is too many snipers on your own team makes PTFO impossible and you lose.  Too many on the other team makes the game to easy to win (even though you will randomly die to headshots, it's just annoying, not effective enough to stop you).  Too many on both teams and the game is a frustrating pile of poop for everyone else.

Snipers to be made *more* powerful, but be limited like cavalry or an elite kit.

This has always been the case, though.  DICE will never have the guts to upset the people that only want to snipe even though it's to the detriment of a team/squad/coop game.

To be clear, I love scout/recon, but not sniping.  It's a shame most scouts are snipers, not using carbines and iron sight rifles and gadgets that help PTFO.

Totally agree to all that you said! 2 problems I see with scouts. Too many new players either start or switch to early on because CQC is frustrating for them. They never really contribute anything to the game. I started this way and regret it, even now! The 2nd problem I see alot is when teams are losing even by a small margin ppl switch over to scouts and they've further doomed their team. I much rather use a carbine/iron sight any day, and only switch over to a scope to counter snipe off mapers and campers that tick me off!

I'm sorry but the fact that a sniper can stand, strafe from side to side, snap scope and has aim plus no sway means this is the single worst case of catering to a COD style of gunplay. It literally requires no skill, down vote me all you like I stick to it. Add in the terrible net code which results in not only getting killed when you are easily completely in cover, but also makes it appear that a kar 98 is semi auto means either dice need to completely rework snipers or get rid of them all together

Fact is that this is the most cod like gun play ever in a battlefield. Recoil is a joke. Full auto weapons require no restraint you just hold down the trigger and every bullet goes exactly where you want it to. All they had to do was reduce health and increase bullet damage but make the fire even slightly realistically so that the require control to use and you've got a great game. Instead they went for arcade speed of movement, aiming and general gameplay. Bf always used to dance a fine line between arcade fun and realism. This is an embarrassment to the battlefield series really.

Firstly, downvoting isn't a thing on the the forums.
Secondly, autorotation has been significantly reduced.  It's there still I believe, but nowhere near what it was.
Thirdly, Netcode is actually pretty good in this game, and has been extensively analysed compared to other games of this genre.  People's internet is often bad, and there's only so much a game can do to make the experience as enjoyable for most people - that's an inevitability with online gaming.  Time to suck it up a little.

    Back onto the actual subject....

Being a Scout and getting a handful of kills a game doesn't require much skill, no.  Getting a good KDR with it doesn't require much skill either.  Just like camping a corner with a shotgun doesn't.  Or sitting at the back with an Arty truck doesn't.  Of all the classes to try and actually being really effective with... Scout probably requires more skill than any other class.  It doesn't have the ability to heal and keep a squad going like medic's do.  It can't do diddly against vehicles.  And it's much harder to attack objectives or defend them, especially against multiple opponents.  There's a reason why in objective modes they are rarely the MVP.

There's also a reason why having too many Scouts on your team when attacking in Ops or playing Conquest is a bad sign, and probably means a loss.  And that's because they are NOT easy to play well.  Scouts far too often sit farther from objectives, and seem to have less situational awareness of what's going on around them.  They are frustrating for sure, but really aren't the problem in the way you are implying - and nothing at all like COD.

And if you are finding sniper rifles often feel like semi-auto weapons, then I strongly suspect it's YOUR internet that's the issue.
