Why are all weapons available to every faction?

Apologies if this has already been discussed but I couldn't find a thread.
If I play as an Alied, the tanks and planes are represented for that faction. Why do I still have access to the Axis weapons, surely I should only have weapons relating to the Allied forces.

For balance and to give players a broader range of weapons to choose from. This would be particularly pronounced in the Pacific where type 100 + type 99 would not be a fair match for tommy + Garand + browning

Because asymmetry is a recipe for disaster in multiplayer games.
    .
Just look at how the balance of the planes is favoring Germany and Japan now. Zero >>>>> Corsair, The JU88 is either a better carpet and AT bomber or a great bomber killer (C variant), The BF109 G2 is having all the nice stuff one needs to dominate the skies and even grief the ground a bit (best turning, best LMG convergence, 20mm cannons, radar, plane and infantry destroying rockets).
    .
On the ground vehicles the British  Valentine tanks (base and archer variants) are anti everything while being relatively  agile.
The Hachi tank is more agile and harder to spot than the Calliope increasing its life span a lot.

This, you can't balance asymmetrical vehicle unless giving them the same upgrades and weapons for each type, it's not possible for guns in general. It'll end up one faction have better weapons than the others.

BF1942,Vietnam, BF2, Bad Company, Bad Company 2 disagrees.
    If done well it works.

Not necessarily. DICE already play a bit fast and loose with how weapons perform in the name of balance, so there is no reason they couldnt do the same with faction specific weapons. Yes you would have a some different weapons - Bren v MG42 for example, but then you can adjust damage values etc to compensate for ROF differences or you just adapt.  Make the maps play twice, once for each side, and its simple. You also dont need to have symmetrical maps either (no, not CQA) and therefore conquest maps could be more representative of the battle its meant to be showcasing. Its what used to happen in the good old days of BF.  It actually provided more variety in gameplay rather than always using the same weapon every single symmetrical map.

That is an "if" as big as a galaxy.
DICE is making BF games now the same way one creates potions with skyrim alchemy without a guide, by mixing ingredients at random and seeing what comes out of it.

WW2 is particularly difficult because the factions would have wildly different small arms and vehicles. The Germans shouldn't have an LMG and the British should be stuck with bolt action rifles. Once you start fudging these things it becomes easier just to let players use what they want.

True, but you can balance bolt action v semi auto by changing damage values so they still have the same TTK.  For example you can use the jungle carbine model of basically 2BTK at whatever ROF it is.  You then make the Gewher 41 have say a 4BTK but with very similar TTK. Balancing can be done in most cases. Also DICE pull out of the hat any number of obscure and rarely used (if at all) weapons so you could probably rustle up any number of weapons to match each faction

Balance is one thing, fun is another. People want to be able to pick a gun that fits their playstyle regardless of faction.

But you also get tons of people s who when a new gun arrives and is basically the same as the ones we already have, complain bitterly.

Also it is not entirely unauthentic. Beutewaffen were a thing and still are.

Because it will create wild imbalance. As if vehicles aren't good enough example of this....
