And am sure these other games that are worse didn’t get the AAA budget dice got to make this utter shower.

Try playing DICE’s other shooter, Star Wars Herospamfront 2, and enjoy plinging away ag enemies with your trash nerf guns while the lucky ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who clicked on Kylo Ren’s or Luke Skywalker’s icon first gets to one shot every one in his immediate vicinity.

I actually love Battlefront II, which isn't something I thought I'd say about any mostly-multiplayer shooter ever. But I do, I think it's wonderful :) I agree hero spam is a bit of an issue, but it's a very different game to Battlefield V, far less competitive and without stats, which I like. So heroes kinda work, even though I hope they will limit them more.

Imo, Battlefront 2 is a farrrr better game than Battlefield V. The gameplay is smoother, I somehow have less ping from the same server region, it's prettier, better visibility, more/better game modes, better aerial/fighter combat (Starfighter Assault is amazing), a better co-op mode, microtransactions/skins you can buy using in-game currency, very little time-limited content, the singleplayer is more interesting (it also has Janina Gavankar, which Battlefield V does not), and maybe best of all... first person and third person perspective options.

Imo, the only things Battlefield V does better are the building destruction and maybe the character customization. Genders and appearances are generally faction/class specific in Battlefront II so I can't play as a female Stormtrooper for example unless I choose the Specialist class, which sucks, but I hope that will be added soon :)

For me, I think the worst shooting game I've ever played is Modern Warfare 2. A friend recommended it to me, and I purchased it super cheap. The campaign is basically "hey, you, guy! Yes, you guy! You're the only soldier we have, go do a thing alone" and it's just an endless string of being given orders and being told what to do, at least from the part I played. We tried to play multiplayer but the game ran at like 1 fps on my PS3 (no exaggeration at all), and co-op was the same. The servers were so bad in that game that it was mostly just frozen, and every 10 seconds you were given a few moments of normal gameplay where you could actually move and reload and things.

So yup, nothing will be worse than that in my eyes :P

The primary issue with SWBF2 is that the actual gameplay is trash and unbalanced. Yes, it’s pretty, yes, it runs well, yes, the single player/co-op modes are fun, but multiplayer itself is not fun unless you’re playing a hero. The 40 player modes should give objective-minded players a chance to shine, but playing the objective is pointless when each match is full of OP hero classes who are doing little more than farming massive numbers of kills and dominating the scoreboard. Base classes do pitiful damage at anything other than extreme close quarters range, even with fully upgraded star cards, and there are only FOUR PRIMARY WEAPONS per class.

The only thing that matters in SWBF2 is racking up enough points to get your hands on a hero. Some of the reinforcement classes are okay, but the majority are just as garbage as the default classes depending on which faction you’re playing. The TTK in that game is so, so bad for anything other than hero classes and it makes for a hugely unsatisfying PVP experience. Also, any multiplayer mode that includes targetable AI enemies to make the game feel fuller (I’m looking at you, Capital Supremacy) is just casual to the max...

Battlefield games all have their problems, but at least the actual GAMEPLAY is solid. TTK 5.2 in SWBF2 for basic troopers would be like extreme hardcore mode, which is just sad. If SWBF2 did not have the Star Wars IP going for it, it would be nothing and people who care about high-quality, objective based PVP would dismiss it.

Worst of the year? How about worst of all time.

MogwaiWarrior I may be frustrated with the state of BF5 but the Playstation 3 exclusive shooter "Haze" is by far and away much worse IMO.

As above, it’s a bit hyperbolic I know. However reflecting on the first year the game I can’t help but shake my head and laugh. Here’s a few highlights I recall from 2019. Feel free to add anything I’ve forgotten or blocked from my memory.

    2018/19 BFV recap:

The unbelievably destructive marketing campaign, the wacky trailer and the ginger ninja, the tepid beta resulting in a 50% cut in sales. Ouch!

The delayed launch by a month for “improvements” only to arrive short one map featuring the lacklustre “unknown” battles of WW2,  And there was only two factions.

The pictures from the launch party mocking online criticisms of BFV. What an own goal.

The rip off special “Deluxe” editions of the game. Early access to a unfinished mess if you paid for EA Access or whatever it’s called, All those guys got conned.

And mein Gott! The bugs, things like the cross hairs pointing in the wrong direction from where you aimed as vehicle gunners, LOL! It seems mad now. Frame rate issues all sorts of stuff.

Visibility of course. Players prone right in front of whole squads completely invisible, blimey! Haven’t you guys got 4K monitors?
Remember the u.i. and how nebulous and slow it was? Your squad would load in like low res monsters and take ages to switch over.

The first TTKgate and how badly it was handled.

The long wait for content, trademark “coming soon” all over the place, even the campaign was incomplete at launch. All very badly received. Yikes!
The delayed practice range and how impractical and dopey it was when it arrived. How could they mess that up? They literally had a prefect example of what people expected from BF4 and yet..

The unwanted competitive mode that withered on the vine resulting in those 4 maps small that are almost never played.

Right I’m off for a drink. 2020 better be a good one!
‘Unwanted competitive mode’? You mean Squad Conquest? It’s the best mode in the game!

Not that I support idea, but if it worse Fps game, you can nominate it on reddit worse Fps game, i believe page dedicated record breaker worse Fps game was Battlefront, and that cause all bugs and microtransaction, and that Star war community very largly huge, so.. Yeah if you wanna do that, you can.

They mean the 5v5 mode that got canceled. I kinda always assumed it was going top get canceled. They shouldn't have tried to support 5v5 and squad conquest. They should have picked one from the get go, and focused the competitive balance then.

I mean, come on - this is just blind hate right here.

For the second time, BF5 isn't even a 2019 title. It's like trying to insist we should nominate Red Dead Redemption 2 for game of the year 2019 when it wasn't released in 2019.

Secondly, there are so many trash games that came out between now and BF1s release its not even funny, and some of them were even shooters.

Does everyone just decide not to remember that Fallout 76 exists? What about Anthem?

Those are two games by what were previously two IMMENSELY praised developers who have made some of the best games in existence, and both of them were HARD failures that performed worse than BF5 could ever dream of, and Anthem is literally on the brink of death with less than a handful of players still playing it. Meanwhile FO76 has seen debacle after debacle and its most recent developments involve a season pass that is 100 dollars a year and a hacking epidemic where hackers are stealing everyone's inventory and wreaking havoc on servers.

BF5 is a wet dream in comparison to those blatant cash grabs. And that's just the tip of the iceberg in terms of crap games released in the past 12~ months.

LOL, and DICE the worst developer of the decade? In the past decade they have literally released their most popular and well received/praised games, being BF3, Bf4, BF1, and now after years SWBF2 is making a humongous comeback. Literally 3 years ago they released what turned out to be the most played and highest selling BF title in the history of the franchise.

There are worse developers out there, by far. DICE isn't deserving of these types of insults merely because they made a single game random people dislike. Imagine that, we live in a world where people disliking a game is a normal and acceptable thing.

Hate? Maybe. Blind? No. Sour reactions on Dice destroying the game for the majority of the fanbase can hardly be considered as "blind".

Uh, so you're going to ignore the words and the context in which they were said just to insist the hate isn't blind?

Sorry but I'm a huge opposer to the changes DICE made to the game as well, but it's still blind hate to insist BF5 is legitimately the worst game in 2019 and that DICE are the worst development studio in the past decade. That's a stance that can't logically be argued for, there are countless games out there that are glaringly worse than BF5 made by just as if not moreso renowned developers, and there are literally devs out there sabotaging their own games despite massive backlash from all facets of the industry (FO76).

To insist calling BF5 the worst game of 2019 and DICE the worst devs in the past decade isn't blind hate is asinine, at best. Those are baseless, blind criticisms.

BFV is the best of the worst and there are no alternative unless playing older BF titles.
    How sad is that.
It has become better with the pacific maps, but still a discount version. The fun factor is just missing. I have fun flying, why I still play.

DICE took an historically bad CoD-ish direction with BFV from the very start. Largely disrespecting any authenticity. So sad. Its like Battlefront 2, it will take years before DICE makes BFV a reasonable good game (like with Battlefront 2).

Maybe I over stated this a bit. I should say worst FPS I have ever played. This goes back to the Rainbow Six days back in 1998.

Maybe I worded this incorrectly. For me, BFV is the worst FPS I have ever played. This dates back to playing the original Rainbow SIx on PC back in 1998. It’s not just the bugs/glitches that make it bad, the game as a whole is just not good. Boring maps, weapons that have no character, sound, atmosphere, fun factor, gun balance, class balance, etc. There is not one thing I can think of that’s great about this game.
As much as I thought I might want soldier customization now I just think it’s stupid. I can’t tell who is who and whether I need to worry about them in a particular situation. Even something simple as weapon skins are pretty bad. This is no hate for DICE or the BF franchise. It’s the only franchise I play and love but I’m sorry they dropped the ball big time with this game. This is my opinion and if anyone doesn’t agree then tough. That’s a you problem.

I see the new COD went on sale for $38 after only being out a couple months.  Guess people quitting after tripping over a million claymores.  Glad I passed on buying it.  BF5 was making strides with the Pacific maps but then had to tinker with weapon nerf's.  DICE should of had me on the payroll.  I could of whipped up a couple maps already.  Long as its more like FAR CRY map editor.  Raise and lower mesh terrain.  Plenty of paints for the ground.  Then add in vegetation like trees and bushes and grass.  Then add in rocks and dig tool to have rivers or lakes.  Hole cutting tool for tunnels and caves.  Plop down some pre-made building props.  Paint the run ways. Place the auto built sand bag areas for support.  Place some conquest flags and ammo and heath and tank depots.

Decade is maybe a bit too much, but that are definitely in the vicinity. It really started with BF1 and then it has been an ongoing slope since then.
I really hope they do not release a BC3 in 2021 if they do not bring more bilge pump to this sinking ship before that, i would really hate to see them botch a new Bad Company iteration.
