The team at Uprise continues to work on Battlefield Companion.
We'd love to get more feedback from the community, so I've created this thread for THAT sole purpose.
Rules to post in this thread are simple:
This isn't a tech support thread. Please don't post your BF1 tech questions here. This is for the Battlefield Companion.
If you post an issue, bug, or missing feature, offer a suggestion.
Don't rant without any constructive, usable feedback. It will be removed. (We want to make it better, right?)
This isn't Battlelog. Posting "go back to Battlelog" isn't feedback on making Battlefield Companion better.
Regular forum rules apply, as always.
Now - What are your top 5 NEEDS/WANTS/SUGGESTIONS for improving Battlefield Companion?
Don't be shy. Be thorough, honest, and constructive. Anything less will be removed.
01-proposal to return to the system when you take a dog tag BF3 becomes apparent without the possibility of EQUIP I think it's beautiful
02- track community mission & medal
03- Battlereports
04- search friend
05- Platoon+ Leaderboards
- A way to share servers
- See where ALL your Origin friends are playing, not just the 100 guys you added first
- Battlereports
- More (detailled) stats on the main page, its very empty
- Give the weapon list a refresh option (on the phone app) (Also add numbers in front of the weapons, im always curious how many guns i got with 100 guns)
I think adding a companion tab ingame, would be stellar, maybe link that to forums....? I really dislike the dissociation in communication platforms (from a console perspective).
If I want to see dev responses I branch out to twitter, the forums, or reddit, if I want to communicate with the community I have to go to reddit or the forums, to look at stats I go to battlefieldtracker, and efficiently reporting bugs I use the bfbugtracker (not often enough). Clan members have to jump through even more hoops to organize on the battlefield. Point being it feels like a full experience is spread across the four corners of the internet.
I believe I understand the design intent with incorporating the different bf titles into a unified UI, it brings the game experience under one roof. I think following that same line of thought could help benefit communication as well.
Currently the forums are a bit messy and congested with dev posts in the general chat category. I think adding a rotating focus for conversation, spearheaded by the team could be hugely benefitial, we had little weekly topics in the alpha and beta forums, I think returning to that, and expanding the accessibility of that conversation would be a big step forward.
Battlenonsense has suggested adding a polling feature into the main UI, to engage a larger portion of the audience, doing the same with the forums in a limited or full sense would bring the community closer.
I think making communication visible would add greatly to the conversations being had. Maybe this is something the team can accomplish.
1. Server sharing like Battlelog. Let me copy paste the server details to everyone
2. Let me check other people accounts and their presentation. Need more social aspect to it. And I would love to add them as Origin Friends if I needed to.
3. Battlereports need to come back
4. Platoons is a must
5. The app needs to stop reseting my loudouts. That's why I stopped using it personally
I've mainly used the app in the past for Battle Reports. I miss BF3 end of round stats too (longest headshot, highest kill streak, best weapon etc..). If you could bring back Battle Reports to the app and include BF3 style stats that would be great. I'd also like leader boards to come back.
How about you expand the stats? Examples:
-Infantry k/d
-vehicle k/d
-In tank: Vehicles I destroyed, infantry I killed.
-How about k/d per class.
-How about showing the percentage of time spent in each map.
Basically, some of the advanced stats the devs have access to, why don't you make some of those available for us to view in the Companion?
How about you introduce some relativity to the stats? My kills per minute is X, X is relative to what? Tell me based on the community average how good my stats are. Example: X is in the 20th percentile. Otherwise, these stats are just numbers. Don't get me wrong I love looking up my stats but I'd like to know how I stack up.
-The Operations score statistic used to appear in the Companion. However, it always appeared as ZERO even though I had spent many many hours in Operations. After the first patch, Operations score no longer is listed on the Companion. I'm curious if the background system is counting my Operations score and also curious why the stat was removed.
-Bug: I do not touch 'Customize Loadout' because it resets my in-game loadout.
Honestly, I'd rather have all the features of the app be easily accessible in game. I don't want to have to grab my phone or use a browser to do it; keeping it in game would be great.
Also, although I disliked web Battlelog, some of its features were nice and I'm confused as to why they aren't being used right now. Battle reports were nice to have, and being able to fully customize everything was also pretty useful. (Although there's a loadout thing in the menu, it's only for infantry, and not being able to adjust vehicle loadouts unless there's an available vehicle in a game is very annoying.)
- share servers easily
- platoons would be a great addition for the communities, platoon feed also to make things more social again
- Battle reports is a must, was a great way to see stats and look back at previous rounds
- Fix the issue of loadouts resetting on mobile app
- Add forum access from app and/or make a social feed system like battlelog had

Like when you could open Battlelog in-game?

Yeah, this is something I've been wondering about for a while as well.

2. Platoon system
3. Improved friend system
4. A feed/wall system
5. Leaderboards (maybe)
Hmm sounds like BL doesn't it?
Seriously tho, why was it even necessary to revamp the whole system? The new app took maaany steps back and didn't improve at all...
