Flakfire said in his latest video "he needs things to do."

It's the current state of players. If there are not tree fitty fitty unlocks, then the game is shallow.
Is he saying that the gameplay isn't reward enough?
    Yes. Muh progression.
    What's next fetch quests?
In the winter patch, players will need to collect the following:

1,000 rocks to earn a dog tag
2,000 rocks to earn a skin with flair
    3,000 rocks for 10,000 xp
    4,000 rocks for 10,250 xp
5,000 rocks to unlock the next assignment

They may as well tie these assignments to the class levelling system. I presume that we will get more ranks for the classes in the future, so you could just assign each specialisation to a specific rank. With this, the player can choose to play the class to its strengths, rather than pursue these... odd tasks. Some of these tasks detract heavily from teamwork and objective play, so the matches that we experience, once these specialisations are implemented, will be rather frustrating.

For example, the Scout class can get the Camouflage specialisation at Scout Level 50.

With this, you still encourage people to play the class. It also provides a bit of a grind for those that want it, but not only that, it also avoids annoying players who don't want to perform obscure and near-impossible challenges.

I honestly don't get DICE at times. As a medic, these specializations are supposed to help me revive people quicker and safer, making me a better medic. So why are there challenges making me drop the syringe or healing pouches to go out and blow up vehicles (which isn't the role of my class)with rifle grenades?

These specializations should facilitate teamwork and helping win matches through organic gameplay. If you have to pad out the grind to appease whining YouTubers or twitch streamers, why not make it a long grind involving gameplay you do every day?. For instance instead of blowing up vehicles with rifle grenades, how about getting 1,000 revives? How about 250 squad revives? 2,500 heals? 750 squad heals? I'm just spiballing numbers but you get the point and the numbers can be adjusted.

Yup, they seem to misunderstand the roles in their own game. It's like it's a bunch of over excited kids just dreaming up any old garbage and enthusiastically high fiving each other.

I think that some challenges need to be reworked:
-destroying vehicles with Crossbow HE, Rifle Grenade HE and K bullets should be changed to "deal XXXX damage with Crossbow HE/Rifle Grenade HE/K bullets". These weapons are nice as vehichle destroy assisting, but focusing on destroying vehicles with them are real frustration.
-same goes to tripwire bombs, they can't one-hit-kill
-DLC/Battlepack items should be changed to something that everyone own
-some challenges are relying too much on luck, as said above

Also, maybe do 10 challenges with requirement of completion only 5 for every assignment? Not everybody likes AT mines and rifle grenades, for example.

Had enough of the same old cliche assignments (or the need to rank up) to unlock things. After nearly 20 years of FPS games it feels more like a chore than any fun. I don't play this game to do tasks.

Don't do vehicles, horse, elites, behemoths, mortars, rifle nades, bayonetting or other hokey-pokey stuff - most of these type assignments will simply be a nuisance for me.

I dont mind the assignments. They help keep the game interesting.

However, how come we don't have any specializations for vehicles? Vehicle classes, Cavalry, Tankers and Pilots should have specializations and specialization assignments as well.

Some of the assignments are quite tough, but overall I think they're okay. I have objections to these, though:
    • "Earn the Scout Ribbon of Valor ribbon in a match" - Getting to do the assignment is based on pure luck. It could take weeks, possibly months, just to get the chance to do it. Also, what if you've already earned it?
    • "Destroy 10 tanks with the Crossbow Launcher - HE" - HE crossbow does very little damage to vehicles and I don't believe they explode on impact, making it very hard to score a hit. Actually destroying 10 tanks would take a very long time. It should be toned down to just 3 tanks or something like it.
    • "Destroy 25 Armored Cars with Limpet Mines" - Even experienced players have probably not destroyed 25 armored cars in total, let alone just with limpet mines. It should be reduced to something like 5-10 cars.
    • "Destroy 25 vehicles with Rifle Grenades HE" - Pretty much the same as the HE crossbow.
    • "Kill 25 enemies with debris" - This relies too much on luck and circumstance.
    • "Obtain 5 kills with the Sawtooth Knife" - This is entirely dependent on luck with battlepacks. It's not even achievable simply through purchases. It's not reasonable.

Also, it would be very useful to have the following clarified:
    • "As a Support, suppress 10 different enemies." - Does this mean suppress assists or actually just suppression without any kills?
    • "Earn 1 Weekly Medal" - Can you redo medals?
    • "In a Round, repair vehicles for 800 damage" - There's no indicator for vehicle HP repaired. Does this mean 80 total repairs?
    • "Capture 100 flags" - Is this in any game mode with capturable objective?

Thanks for hearing us out on this! I'm looking forward to more assignments. :-)

I'll not buy this DLC. When I buy something, I expect to be able to use it asap.

This assignments/requirements will force me to play modes/weapons/classes that I don't like, ruining my gaming experience. Also, will hurt my team/squad by forcing me to play sub-optimal class/load-outs. Some of the assignments seems ideas from a developer devious mind....

Resuming the buying of future battlefields/DLC for when EA gets rid of the RPG mechanics.

I work and at night I want to have some fun games, not to grind or do un-fun things.

This is just a ribbon, not a medal. 5 kills with a rifle in a round, easy enough to get.
I agree with the rest of your points though, luck is a big factor with most of these assignments.

    1 Storm the Doors
Challenge #2 Destroy 2 vehicles with Anti-Tank Grenades - will the nades stop bouncing off the vehicles?
Challenge #4 As an Assault, bayonet charge 5 different enemies - hate bayonetting, it's a cheap tactic
    2 Selfless Courage
Challenge #1 Heal 20 different allies - different as in heal 20 of the 31 other players in conquest?
Challenge #2 Revive 15 different allies - what does different mean?
    3 Supporting the Support
Challenge #1 Resupply 20 different allies - the different word again?
Challenge #2 Repair vehicles for a total of 300 damage - not sure what this means either
Challenge #5 As a Support, suppress 10 different enemies - so is this suppression assists?
    4 Eye on the Prize
Challenge #3 Kill an enemy that has just killed a teammate - avenger kill, just make it avenger ribbon?
Challenge #5 As a Squad Leader, place 5 orders in a round - typically I do NOT want scouts to be squad leaders
    5 Omniverous Palate
    Challenge #2 Perform 10 kills with Tanks - I don't use vehicles
Challenge #3 Deal a total of 400 damage to vehicles - what is 400 dmg?
5a Leading from the Front (Basic)
Challenge #6 Earn 1 Weekly Medal - the medal system is still broken and I rarely pay attention to it
5b Leading from the Front (Veteran)
Challenge #3 Perform 50 kills with Stationary Weapons - not a fan of this and need support to repair
    6a Dependable (Basic)
Challenge #1 Perform 5 Suppression Assist kills - confused what this means?
Challenge #2 Perform 10 kills with the Mortar - Air - really? Airburst is cheaper than bayonetting.
Challenge #4 In a Round, repair vehicles for 800 damage - this sounds tough
Challenge #5 Destroy 10 tanks with the Crossbow Launcher - HE - last hit for the kill with the HE version - luck here. 6b Dependable (Veteran)
Challenge #1 Perform 50 kills with the Perino Model 1908 Low Weight - coming out with the DLC?
Challenge #2 Destroy 25 Armored Cars with Limpet Mines - not enough cars to begin with let alone limpy k's
Challenge #5 In a single life, perform 5 kills as an Elite Class - don't use them in fact I might have 5 kills or less with 400 hours of gameplay
Challenge #6 Perform 50 kills whilst on horseback - don't use them either and have no idea what these last two challenges have to do with the support class
    7a Healing Hands (Basic)
Challenge #1 Heal 10 different squad members - what does diff mean?
Challenge #2 Revive 10 different squad members - ditto above note
Challenge #5 Perform 5 kills with the Medical Syringe - really? More cheap stuff (NOT Jeep stuff) maybe have 100 kills with the Kolibri next? Trolling schtuff (mixture of s**t and stuff) and I don't dig it.
    7b Healing Hands (Veteran)
Challenge #3 Destroy 25 vehicles with Rifle Grenades HE - more lucky shots with HE variations of exploitable junk.
Challenge #6 As a Medic, perform 50 kills with Gas Grenades - nothing says healing hands like death by hands off gas
    8a Eagle Eye (Basic)
Challenge #1 Perform 10 Spot Assist kills - not sure what this means? If it's just spotting then it needs fixed in the game since the mechanic sort of works sometimes and other times i'm breaking the controller (xbone)
Challenge #3 Perform 5 Squad Spot Assist kills - so this is just squad mates
Challenge #5 Achieve 3 Spot Assist kills using Flares - and this is only by the flare
Challenge #6 Kill 3 enemy Elites with K Bullets - these are for vehicles, elites and the like not general infy - or when I run out of ammo - seems kind of silly to waste them instead of helping your team get rid of tanks - wait do tank destructions count as K kills?
    8b Eagle Eye (Veteran)
Challenge #3 Kill 20 different enemies with Tripwire Bombs - here's that different thing again
Challenge #4 Perform 50 kills with the Lebel Model 1886 Sniper - only use infy, marksman and carbine variants
Challenge #5 Win 10 games of Domination - because snipers are really good on Domination, typically
Challenge #6 Headshot a Pilot with any single-action Rifle - some luck, some skill at least there are more shots going at the planes and the little glowing orbs of death
    9 Vehicular Chaos
Challenge #1 Perform 15 road kills - trolling, don't use them
Challenge #2 Down 25 planes using Stationary Weapons - or these
Challenge #3 Perform 35 kills with the Cavalry lance - no horses either
Challenge #4 Perform 45 kills whilst using any tank - think I've rode in a few
Challenge #5 Perform 50 kills whilst using any plane - my team probably wouldn't want me in a plane
Challenge #6 Perform 50 Driver Assist kills - the vehicle assts are way different from past games
    10 It's Where you Stand
Challenge #1 Destroy 10 Tanks on Amiens - only on Amiens? Tankers will never play the map and if these come out with the Tsar DLC then very few people will be playing the Vanilla maps to begin with.
Challenge #2 Perform 25 Melee kills on Argonne Forest - wait, bring a knife (fav. melee weapon here) to shotgun forest? And only the forest, great people are going to set up melee only servers for Argonne, super.
Challenge #3 Perform 100 Shotgun Kills on Ballroom Blitz - more map-centric assignments.
Challenge #4 Perform 5 Multi-kills on Monte Grappa - large open map with bombers, well pilots will get this no prob.
Challenge #5 Perform 50 Headshots on Nivelle Nights - DLC map, glad i'm premium for some reason
Challenge #6 Kill 25 enemies with debris - luck, happenstance and maybes - the game has got to hone the basic fundamentals of action, hit reg, the ping game, etc. and moving around the debris and now we have to watch out for it killing us - absolutely superb...buildings are now your enemy, heeeheee
    11 Modal Yodel
Challenge #2 Perform 50 kills from Behemoths - don't do them either, it's an FPS and vehicles are groovy for those who do them but elites, cavalry, behemoths and all that are blah - don't do them
12 It's in the Game - really? EA, it's in the game...ad here, bring back EA BIG and SSX2 or SSX3?
Challenge #1 Take 10 dogtags from enemies - melee is wonky enough and most of the time I feel like I cheated someone or they cheated me - either way it's just meh.
Challenge #2 Perform 100 kills with Elite Kits - probably not
Challenge #3 Bayonet Charge 50 enemies - cheap mechanic
Challenge #4 Perform 40 kills with Explosives - 1 round Fort de Nade - DLC, sorry
Challenge #5 Obtain 5 kills with the Sawtooth Knife - unlock it first, good luck with those battlepacks - randomness

My thoughts, everyone should let their voice be heard, i'll check out the specializations if they work on the xbone, last I checked the new dlc weapons were not and neither were these. ttfn.

Some thoughts on these - having not tried them but a few of the youtubers have and they point out some good points and I have some to add or multiply them, here goes...

    All Specializations CTE - Generic:

Flak: Incoming damager from explosions is reduced by 15% - useful in almost any situation - one less insta-nade kill is good however it will not bail you out of Fort de Nade - usability: highly likely

Cover: Incoming suppression is reduced by 25% - suppression in general needs removed so cutting it down is a good start and i'm all for less of something that hampers gameplay - usability: highly likely

Quick Regen: Decrease time before Out of Combat Heal by 20% - getting the regen moving sooner keeps you alive longer and that's always a good thing in my book - usability: highly likely

Quick Unspot: Decrease length of time you are Spotted by 2 seconds - not sure how useful this is, 6 secs vs 8 secs is iffy
Bayonet Training: Bayonet charge lasts longer and recovers more quickly - cheap tactic and not much interested in it, not sure how much one sec can do to help recovery or duration to something i'd prefer not have in the game; to those who enjoy this - then by all means enjoy - usability: probably never

Hasty Retreat: Increase your maximum sprint speed by 10% whilst you are Suppressed - this goes with hit reg, ping, latency and so many other things and suppressed means soon for dead and getting around those corners and getting hit around those corners is a recurring issue so for this to be effective means a lot more dedication to get all those other items addressed - usability: doubtful

Camouflage: When moving slowly or stationary you are invisible to Spot Flares - wow does this sound like a game changer, cannot wait to try this out and I do think it is a game breaker since it renders one of snipers most useful gadgets useless and aids campers in, well, camping - get your pork n beans on, the fire is hot; back to the topic if it going to be as broken as it sounds - usability: highly likely

    Assault:
Juggernaut: Your Gas Mask also reduces explosive damage by 15% (does stack) - no brainer - usability: highly likely
Controlled Demolition: TNT is now detonated sequentially - this sounds mostly useless - usability: trolling?

    Medic:
Stimulant Syringe: Reviving an ally give you both a 20% sprint speed for 8 seconds (Does not stack) - Rambo revives?, I think the revive train is out of control as it is and would like revives to be for soldiers not killed by headshots, melee, explosive, etc. however to be able to get in there and bring back the ammo guy and get out of dodge is good - usability: definitely usable
Concealed Rescue: Downed Squad Mates within 20m drop smoke to cover their revival (40s cooldown) - not sure if I want smoke all over the place - seems like on some maps or from behemoths there's going to be smoke all over and smoke is massively underutilized in this game the methodology to use it effective is a dead body puffing up in smoke is creepy (like some Night of the Living Dead stuff) - usability: in certain circumstances but iffy sums it up

    Support:
Unbreakable: Incoming suppression is reduced by 75% when your Bipod is deployed - head shot victim?, he should be the guy delivering suppression however my thoughts are already noted on suppression and how much i'd like it gone - reduction is a positive but more campers laying up against a wall with bipod out is something I do NOT want as well - usability: unlikely
Pin Down: The Duration an enemy remains spotted is extended via Suppression - so suppression (hate it) is longer if you're opening fire on an enemy behind cover, sounds partially useless since you have to wait for someone else to kill them or some such, this seems useless - usability: very doubtful

    Scout:
Scapegoat: A decoy is automatically deployed when struck below 35 health by a distant enemy (30s cooldown) - the decoy is used very little because it stinks and scope glare stinks as well but DICE won't get rid of it so here we are adding more decoys which pop out of 'nowhere' when struck to 35 health or less creating more scope glares out in the distance, have to say it sounds useless and so - usability: very doubtful
Perimeter Alarm: When your Trip Mine is triggered enemies within 15m are marked on the mini-map - this could be useful in the right situation with a larger perimeter and for longer time however it goes against the spotting flare scenario previously mentioned, this needs some doctoring to make it functional - usability: perhaps with plenty of upgrades

Hopefully i'll get to actually try them out later tonight or sometime tomorrow but it only seems like only a few of these are going to make the grade for really common every game usage with several situational and the other pile are useless, just my thoughts - Battlefielders let your voice (typing) be heard (read).
