I believe it's getting addressed in the next patch. It's to do with random spread of the pellets making all the pellets deviate to much too one side. They are going to ensure there is a more even spread.

I'm on BT infinity and I have had problems with this game since release until I turned off the enhanced uPnP or whatever it's called in the home hub. Now it plays like a dream.
