Tips and Tricks: Mount Steep Free-roam Region
Get tips on defeating Mount Steep’s boss and more in PvZ: Battle for Neighborville.
Howdy and welcome to Mount Steep! In Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™, free-roam regions are areas you can explore alone or with up to three friends. Embark on missions, battle enemies, search for golden gnomes, take on challenging boss battles, and more. Each one has a ton of fun stuff to do, so squad up and get growing!
Mount Steep, you’ll find a plant story mode comprised of three main locations: Olde Town, Rocky Flats, and the Cheese Mines. To access the area, just talk to Sir Victor-Ian in Dave Manor.
Boss Battle: Major Problem
Oh, queso you want learn more about Mount Steep’s boss, Major Problem? This guy is nacho average fondue warmer! Major Problem is essentially a giant robot furnace, comprised of Miner Problems (Imp zombies working to fill the mines of Mount Steep with cheese, of course). His goal? Heat things up in the Olde Town Neighborville Cheese Factory enough to cover Neighborville in liquid fromage!
When taking on Major Problem, keep in mind that he moves fast and his cheese missiles are always firing. Don’t stay in one place for long and watch out for cheese lava! Otherwise, all that will be left of you and Neighborville is de brie.
General Tips:
- Some of Mount Steep’s gnomes are hidden behind cheese waterfalls and in other hard-to-reach places. Use Cactus’ Garlic Drone to find hidden secrets and gnomes that may be out of reach for other characters.
- If you get to Mount Steep and don’t know what to do, talk to the plants and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Complete all of the challenges to unlock new areas to explore!
- Each region has valuable chests and gnomes to discover. Can’t find them? Locate Sergeant Peel who can sell you a map with their locations. Just go into your map, tag the chest or gnome you’re looking for, and a compass will appear to guide you there.
