Plants Vs Zombies: Heroes Balance Update for December 2024
Hey Heroes! Crazy Dave is bringing balance to the lawn! The latest balance update has finally sprouted in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. It’s time to plant your feet, grow your skills, and cultivate a winning strategy to take on the competition. Download the update right away and blossom into battle. Here’s a look at the changes we made with the latest patch:
Tuning/Balance Notes
Zombies-
- Alien Ooze: Plant debuff increased to -3/-3, and -6/-6 on Heights or in an Environment.
- Deep Sea Gargantuar: Attack and health reduced; still Amphibious with Hunt, granting +1/+1 to Zombies entering lanes.
- King of the Grill: Conjures a Gargantuar card instead of Gourmet cards when destroying a Plant.
- Nibble: Now conjures a Gourmet card if the targeted Plant is destroyed.
- Nurse Gargantuar: Heals Hero for damage dealt by any Gargantuar.
- Octo Zombie: Amphibious and Frenzy, creates a 3/2 Octo-Pet with Frenzy, bounces on destruction.
- Zombot 1000: Reveals from Gravestone to destroy Plants in adjacent lanes.
- Duckstache: Mustache Evolution buff increased to +3/+3.
- Gargantuar Mime: Gained Untrickable trait.
- Mustache Waxer: Gains +2 Health and a Brain when a Mustache is played.
- Pirate’s Booty: Name changed to Quarterly Bonus, grants a Zombie 4 Strength and a Bonus Attack.
- Regifting Zombie: Conjures a buffed Zombie for the player and a nerfed Plant for the opponent.
- Shieldcrusher Viking: Effect triggered on the play, not just on the damage.
- Wizard Gargantuar: Grants Bullseye to Gargantuars and transforms another Zombie at +1 Cost.
- Wormhole Gatekeeper: Conjures cards cost 1 less, and it has the Science subtype.
- Exploding Fruitcake: Now deals 5 damage to a Plant, letting the opponent conjure a Fruit.
- Final Mission: Destroys a Zombie to deal damage to a Plant.
- Frankentuar: Gains Splash Damage 2, and +1/+1 when a Zombie is destroyed.
- Disco Dance Floor: Provides Overshoot 2 and Fusion bonus to Zombies.
- Gizzard Lizard: Now deals 3 damage to each Plant on evolution.
- Headhunter: Damages Plant Hero with Dancing cards and evolves with Bullseye.
- Hippity Hop Gargantuar: Ability triggers on play and when hurt.
- Moon Base Z: Provides Overshoot 3 in a Science BARREL environment.
- Quickdraw Con Man: Limited to Monster subtype.
- All Star Zombie: Now has Untrickable, along with Armored 1 and Frenzy.
- Celestial Custodian: Can destroy Plants with 3 or less Strength.
- Cone Zone: Boosts Zombie health in its area.
- Ra Zombie: Reduces Plant Hero's Sun when played.
- Terrify: Conjures a Monster instead of drawing cards.
- Turquoise Skull Zombie: Gains +1 Health, loses 1 Sun for the opponent each turn.
- Undying Pharaoh: Now has Armored 1.
- Wannabe Hero: Gains Frenzy, heals 3 on play.
- Captain Flameface: Gravestone ability removed, grants Strikethrough to all Pirates.
- Cursed Gargolith: Steals 2 sections from the Super-Block Meter, hides Gargantuars in Gravestones.
- Imp Commander: Now includes Gravestone ability.
- Mini-Ninja: Anti-Hero with a strength boost.
- Monkey Smuggler: Steals 1 section from the Super-Block Meter.
- Unthawed Viking: Freezes all Plants in lanes when played, gains +1/+1, and freezes on evolution.
- B-Flat: Cost reduced from 4 to 3.
- Cat Lady: Health increased from 4 to 5.
- Deep Sea Gargantuar: Attack reduced from 7 to 6 and Health from 8 to 6.
- Kangaroo Rider: Health increased from 3 to 4.
- Primordial Cheese Shover: No stat changes, same as above.
- Synchronized Swimmer: Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Vengeful Cyborg: Health increased from 5 to 6.
- Yeti Lunchbox: When the Yeti Lunchbox trick card is played, it gives a Zombie +1/+1. If the Zombie is a Pet, it gets +2/+1 instead.
- Zookeeper: Attack reduced from 2 to 1, Health increased from 2 to 3.
- Electrician: Health increased from 2 to 3.
- Gadget Scientist: Attack increased from 2 to 3.
- Gentleman Zombie: Attack reduced from 2 to 1, Health increased from 2 to 4.
- Trick-or-Treater: Health increased from 3 to 4.
- Portal Technician: Attack increased from 4 to 5.
- Zom-Blob: Attack increased from 1 to 2.
- Zombot Dinotronic Mechasaur: Attack and Health increased from 6/7 to 8/8.
- Abracadaver: No stat changes, same as above.
- Cakesplosion: Cost reduced from 4 to 3.
- Disco-Tron 3000: Attack and Health increased from 4/4 to 5/5.
- Flamenco Zombie: Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Gargantuar-Throwing Imp: Cost reduced from 5 to 4, Attack reduced from 2 to 1.
- Grave Robber: Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Pogo Bouncer: Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Zombie High Diver: Attack increased from 2 to 3, Health reduced from 3 to 2.
Plants-
- Gardening Gloves: Now conjures a Trick instead of drawing a card.
- Gravitree: Gained Untrickable trait.
- Mirror-Nut: Added Bullseye, damage reduced to 1.
- Prickly Pear: Damage reduced to 2, targets Zombie Hero.
- Tough Beets: Gains +1 Attack on play for each other Plant and Zombie.
- Atomic Bombegranate: Creates Seedlings here and next door.
- Transfiguration: Transforms into a random Plant that costs 1 more, and retains ability.
- Veloci Radish Hunter: Name changed to Veloci-Radish Packmate.
- Wild Berry: Added Anti-Hero 2, moves to a random lane on play.
- Banana Peel: Subtype changed to Fruit; conjures a Fruit after moving a Zombie.
- Half Banana: Subtype changed to Fruit; buffs all Fruits in hand when destroyed.
- Typical Beanstalk: Now gains +1 Health when played next to a Leafy Plant.
- Leaf Blower: Can now also bounce a Gravestone.
- Snapdragon: Gained Amphibious ability.
- Sow Magic Beans: Shuffle five Magic Beanstalks into your deck.
- Winter Melon: Gains the ability to freeze a Zombie when played.
- Laser Bean: Attack based on the amount of Sun gained that turn.
- Sun Strike: Name changed to Cross-Pollination; conjures a Fruit and Flower, both costing 1 less.
- Water Balloons: Targets non-Amphibious Zombies; debuff increased if 6 Sun is made.
- Galacta: Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Photosynthesizer: Cost increased from 1 to 2.
- Primal Wall-Nut: Health reduced from 9 to 8.
- Smackadamia: Health increased from 4 to 5.
- Spikeweed Sector: Cost increased from 2 to 3.
- Tough Beets: Attack reduced from 6 to 2, Health increased from 1 to 2.
- Atomic Bombegranate: Cost increased from 5 to 6, Attack increased from 5 to 6, and Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Invasive Species: Cost reduced from 3 to 2, Attack reduced from 2 to 1.
- Lava Guava: Cost reduced from 5 to 4.
- Seedling: Health increased from 1 to 2.
- Sizzle: Cost reduced from 5 to 3.
- Transfiguration: Cost reduced from 4 to 2, Attack reduced from 4 to 1, Health reduced from 7 to 1.
- Blooming Heart: Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Cosmic Pea: Cost increased from 3 to 4, Attack increased from 1 to 2, Health increased from 1 to 2.
- Navy Bean: Attack and Health increased from 2/2 to 3/3.
- Apple Saucer: Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Cob Cannon: Attack reduced from 6 to 4.
- Elderberry: Health reduced from 4 to 3.
- Haunted Pumpking: Health reduced from 2 to 1.
- Magnifying Grass: Health increased from 1 to 2.
- Venus Flytrap: Attack increased from 2 to 3, Health reduced from 2 to 1.
Heroes-
Ensign Uproot Beta-Carrotina: Amphibious; moves another Plant or Zombie when played.
Genetic Amplification Beta-Carrotina: Conjures a Plant costing 2, granting it +2/+1, Amphibious, and Team-Up.
More Spore Night Cap, Solar Flare: Creates a 1/1 Button Mushroom in a chosen lane and another in a random lane.
Power Pummel Grass Knuckles: Deals 2 damage to each Ground Zombie.
Sunburn Solar Flare: Deals 2 damage and grants +2 Sun.
Carried Away (Super Brainz): Moves a Zombie, gives it +1/+1, and performs a Bonus Attack.
Dance Off (Electric Boogaloo, Professor Brainstorm): Creates a 1/1 Backup Dancer in a chosen lane and another in a random lane.
Frozen Tundra (Brain Freeze): Freezes all Plants.
Octo-Pult (Neptuna): Creates a 3/2 Octo-Pet with Amphibious and Frenzy.
Terror-Former 10,000 (Huge-Gigantacus): Conjures an Environment and a Trick, reducing their cost by 1.
Witch’s Familiar (Immorticia): Creates a 2/1 Zom-Bats with Amphibious that draws a card when it hurts a Plant.
