Plants vs. Zombies Heroes Birthdayz Cards
Ever since Plants vs. Zombies Heroes launched worldwide last October, we've been busy adding features, expanding the library of cards, and ensuring that there's even more zany fun for you to experience every day. In fact, we've been hard at work making every PvZ game an incredible experience for the last 8 years! That's right: on May 5th this year, Plants vs. Zombies turns 8 years old.
During the course of the event, we're also offering up some awesome deals, including Premium Multipack bonuses! We even have a limited time gift waiting for you in the ‘For You’ store!
We hope you'll join us in PvZ Heroes as we celebrate Birthdayz! Here's a look at, and tips for, at the new cards available during the Birthdayz event:
Gargantuar-Throwing Imp (Available: Birthdayz Bundle)
When lifting a Gargantuar, always bend at the knees. He learned this the hard way.
Card Info:
- Class: Crazy
- Cost: 5 Brainz
- Strength: 1
- Health: 2
- When Hurt: Make a Smashing Gargantuar (5/5, Gargantuars have Frenzy) in a random lane.
Card Tips:
- Use Fireworks Zombie and Barrel of Deadbeards to do 1 damage to your own Gargantuar-Throwing Imp. When Gargantuar-Throwing Imp gets hurt, you’ll get a free Smashing Gargantuar right away. You can get a second free Smashing Gargantuar when the Gargantuar-Throwing Imp takes more damage later! That’s 11 Strength and 12 Health total for just 5 Brains!
- Or play Gargantuar-Throwing Imp against a 1-Strength Plant, to get one free Gargantuar now, and another one later.
- Play Gargantuar-Throwing Imp against two Team-Up Plants with strength, like Shroom for Two or Pair of Pears. Each of those Plant hits will give you a free Gargantuar, so you’ll get two Smashing Gargantuars right away! That’s 10 Strength with Frenzy attacking on the same turn!
- Try to play Gargantuar-Throwing Imp as far to the left as possible, so when it makes Smashing Gargantuars, they’ll get to fight that same turn.
- Brain Freeze can also pair this with cards that power up Imps, like Toxic Waste Imp or Imp Commander
Banana Split (Available: Weekly Event)
“I don't want to brag, but hanging out in a tub full of ice-cream all day... not a bad gig if you can get it.”
Card Info:
- Class: Mega-Grow
- Cost: 4 Sun
- Strength: 4
- Health: 4
- When Destroyed: Make 2/2 Half-Bananas next door.
Card Tips:
- A 4/4 Plant is already a great size for 4 Sun, and then you get two more 2/2 Half-Bananas for free – a total of 8 Strength and 8 Health for just 4 Sun!
- Play Banana Split with empty spaces on both sides, so there’s room for the Half-Bananas to appear.
- You can play Team-Up Plants next door to Banana Split, and there will still be room for the Half-Bananas to appear in the same lane as the Team-Up Plants.
- When Banana Split splits in a fight, the lane to its right will fight next, as normal. That means that the Half-Banana appearing to its right will fight right away. You can set this up so that Half-Banana takes out a 2 Health Zombie.
Garlic (Available: Weekly Event)
“Vimpires. They're the worst. I don't like to use the word 'hate' but yeah, I hate 'em.”
Card Info:
- Class: Guardian
- Cost: 1 Sun
- Strength: 1
- Health: 5
- Team Up. When a Zombie hurts this, move that Zombie to the left. If it's a Vimpire, destroy it.
Card Tips:
- Tough Zombie can whittle down your Wall-Nuts and get to the Plant behind. With Garlic, that doesn’t happen, since Garlic shoves Zombies into another lane. So the Plant behind Garlic stays safe.
- You can set up a nasty welcoming committee in the lane to the left, ready to receive any Zombies that Garlic moves there. For example, try pushing Zombies into a lane with Armored Plants like Tough Beets or Soul Patch. Or Plants that love being hit like Hibernating Beary or Pear Cub.
- Garlic is a Team-Up Plant with Strength, so you can play in the same lane as another Plant with Strength, and both those Plant attack will give the Zombie Hero only one Super-Meter charge. It’s a lot like the Garlic having Bullseye, since the Garlic hit doesn’t give the Zombie Hero any more Super-Meter charges than they already would have gotten.
